Don’t get what Millington was on about, when suggesting a Saturday Gold Cup would give a chance for people to attend who don’t want to use valuable holiday up in the week.
They can’t be that interested in racing, ive never worked Cheltenham week and never will.I actually like going jumping at the new Ascot and it would be a fitting home for The King George should JCR do their worst with Kempton.
I do remember at the old Ascot the missed number boards and the Distinct voice of Cloudsley Marsham bellowing out from the cctv.
Also remember seeing Looks Like Trouble in the John Bull Chase on his comeback from injury, must have been one of the last runnings before the bookies took over racing.Wouldn’t be surprised if this happens as soon as 2021 when the new mares Chase comes in,that way they won’t need to scrap a race.
They just get away with 4 days and only because the gold cup is still on the last day.
5 days will ruin the meeting and the whole season and all due to JCR greed!!I seem to remember The Waterloo Hurdle was the race that once was stopped mid race and then started again and then ended up covering four miles
RTV back to form today, Savills chase split screen with some gaff race from Catterick and then finish interrupted by the start of Leicester race.
They keep making excuses but the incompetence carry’s onRe ITV: it seems to me the better the race the less we see of the horses.
It was a disgrace that they decided to show a recording of an interview with soap “actors” rather than the horses in the parade ring for the Betfair Chase recently.Yes Punchestown was running late but whoever decided the Peterborough should go off 10mins after a grade one is a cretin.
Thought Barry had a senior moment at Newbury and luckily looked up just in time. Not that ITV saw it that way of course.
Rang this morning, got through after 40mins. They refused to offer me the deal as I’m an existing subscriber and then cut me off!
RTV should order Galway to start at least 5mins later or their races won’t be shown…if the Irish dont like it then tough!
Indeed it is,but you wouldn’t guess by listening to or reading the usual cheerleaders in the racing media.
Newmarket champions day was a fabulous day and yes the day now attracts 14,000 extra “racegoers” but that’s not enough to justify running a wrecking ball through the later stages of the flat season. What happened to the cooperation between HRI and BHA that was promised? A bunch of primary school kids could do better.
I think RTV need to take a stance and say to Ireland that if they can’t schedule races better then they won’t be shown live on the main channel on busy Saturdays.
Ascot is back on RTV on Saturday as a one off for champions day,it will surely confirm to the course that they was right to move to SSR.I see the clown who sets the race times has struck again this Saturday…Punchestown going off 5 mins before the Dewhurst and the 2 SSR jump meetings in a 10min spell.
After the shocker they had yesterday when then showed the 2.55 at Navan and ended up going split screen for a group one at Newmarket, people would be better off just watching the replays on various sites,as the coverage has nose dived so much since the Irish racing arrived.
I’d be interested to know how many subscribers they have left now.Makes more sense than swamping one of the highlights of the flat season with betting fodder.
Wants the point in subscribing to RTV? Their coverage of The Eclipse was pathetic and would have been worse if sandown hadn’t been running late.
They should have ditched Chelmsford and Leicester to be shown later.
Thank goodness for ITV and I never thought I’d say that.Exactly Phil.what kind of idiot at The BHA would schedule a race to go off 5 minutes after a group one? Especially given Sandowns tradition of running late.
Not to mention a sand race 10 minutes before😡
It’s no wonder ITVs figures are up when RTV are being drowned in mediocrity- AuthorPosts
