When Edward Gillespie left Cheltenham,it was a big loss to the course
He’s more interested in not upsetting Gaurdian readers than he is racecourses etc.
He should have pressed ages ago for racecourses to be treated differently to stadiums , their layout has more in common with Legoland than reading fc.Situation not helped by the wooden tops that put the fixture list together.
Last week RTV only had Leopardstown and SKY had everything else and that ruined their coverage of The St Leger.I took this offer out 2 months ago and despite being more of a jumping fan,it’s been brilliant to have it and will definitely carry on through the winter.
It’s a fraction of the cost of the print version, available at 9pm the night before so cuts all the hassle of trying to find a copy in the shops and the racecard printouts via pro card are well laid out and perfect for going racing when we are allowed to again.
Another plus is the replays and saves a subscription to RTV especially given how they have deteriorated since the Irish racing arrived.
You can go wrong taking this offer up
And you get the past month in archive as well.September 3, 2020 at 18:47 in reply to: The approved killing of NH horses continues at Southwell #1499728Those awful trolly fences strike again. This is what Haydock would be like if they raced in the summer
RIP to Croco Bay. Southwell is another course to use those dreadful trolly fences
Nashwan was a Fabulous horse and I’m glad to say I was at a boiling hot Ascot the day he won The King George.
Give me him or Sea the Stars over Frankel any dayBHA needs to push for racecourses to be treated differently to football, cricket grounds etc as they are completely different and more open.
It’s ridiculous that we can visit a funfair or spend a week at Butlins but not visit a racecourse.
It’s also coming up to the time when payments come out for Cheltenham membership… it’s a lot of money to pay out if I’m not allowed in.Just because the lefty’s and snowflakes didn’t like the fact Cheltenham went ahead, doesn’t make it a wrong decision, I’m glad it went ahead.
As for Ascot heath, should be fine as entry to it is controlled on race days anyway.Wonderful to read about Combs Ditch Alan, was a favourite horse of mine when I first got into racing and interesting to see how many of those races he ran in don’t even exist anymore.
If and it’s a big IF,the classics can be run just a month later then because of the vandalism of the back end of the flat season 10 years ago by the Ascot champions day, there’s scope to catch up so the Ascot swamp fest can be run on its original date.
Still don’t understand why Ascot are insisting that the royal meeting is run in its original date though.Frenchy15
The only logic for cancelling the Grand National but starting back up in time for the Guineas Meeting is that to the BHA flat racing is much more important.Boris did his best to keep this country moving and to avoid financial Armageddon but clearly this country doesn’t have the backbone for that anymore hence yesterdays clamp down.
May even be Goodwood before racing comes back.Probably because jumping is far more popular than the flat these days.
It doesn’t take Over until the Guineas meeting these daysWhat Haydock did to it’s jumps course was nothing short vandalism and the BHA should have taken the Betfair Chase off them.
A JCR course,as is Wincanton who scrapped all those lovely condition chases.Yes can get a ticket on the day or book the night before and save a fiver
I believe that ITV have missed out on the champions league again, just as well as with less money in the kitty they may have told racing to get stuffed.
