    Welcome to TRF, stilvi.

    Filly trained by Bruce Hobbs?

By the way, I think you’ll find Sir Michael did croos the steward’s radar screen earlier this year. I believe he had a horse banned for 48? days for non-trying, can’t remember the name of the horse but it was ridden by Stephen Davies???

    Colin

    Sorry to jump in!
..This just proves that the stewards in england are slightly more aware to the running of the big stable horses and will punish accordingly. When was the last time a ballydoyle jockey got pulled in by stewards in ireland?

there will always be stats but the stats dont tell you anything in some circumstances. The cesarewitch is is one of them.

I think you will find Ted Durcan and Ibn Khaldun had a nice little ‘day out’ at Yarmouth towards the end of August. Drifted from 9/4 to 100/30. Since rattled up a hat-trick while the well supported winner that day has filled the bookies satchels twice.

….Thats,Godolphin over CROOKED Ballydoyle for me!

..Well then all 2yo races should be non betting events in the interests of the ‘know nothing high street punter’. The very people that allow it to exist

If the jockey i back fails to get into a decent position after one and a half miles, drawn anywhere, i would be most upset.

Godolphin over Ballydoyle for me on sheer punter friendliness! Their jockeys dont school in public or maybe its just not as obvious

It would be very hypocritical of them to do so, after the news that the naming of the Blue Peter kitten was fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Colin

A good source tells me Goldie was a half man, half beast hybrid  is there no end to the skullduggery? As waiting for ceefax pages to appear is like watching your nan conquer a DVD recorder, its good riddence from me.

Whats to become of these poor sods when their ‘racing’ careers are over? Will any sane person let them cover a mare? will they know how? im worried.

Danish Blues is a good one to mention in this context.

Given an official mark of 10 after his three qualifying runs (which grossly flattered him) and went up 53lb after his fourth run!

I once gave a horse a rating of 15 after three runs and was phoned by an irate trainer who demanded "What am I going to tell the owner?".

The truth !! In that he is the proud owner of a turd

Heffernans ride should have been pulled under the non triers rule. plain and simple. Im pretty sure stewards do not and would not have excepted his deliberatly tender riding (he was never going to get pulled). This is not an exceptable excuse. This is textbook NON TRYING and it stinks to high heaven  The only way around this is to make ALL 2yo races a hands and heels with all punters knowing wear they stood. The average punter doesnt give a hoot about nuturing horses, and why should he/she?

Never thought of that one really…I actually think Ruby would have to ride Denman  as i think he’s retained by the owner, Harry Finlay (if he wasnt before, i bet he is now!). Which poses the question, who would get Kauto?

Whether or not you think Dylan Thomas is better at 1 mile 2 furlongs or 1 mile 4 furlongs is rather like whether or not you prefer French or Italian wine. The point is, you have to base the example given on form not "wonder" horse status. Give every runner their own track, [excusing hard luck stories etc] and time how fast they run the distance in fast, good and soft ground and Dylan Thomas comes out on top 9/10 times. As for Manduro, you could argue that because he beat Dylan this year he’s better, but then the same argument would apply to Ed Dunlop’s filly who Dylan beat in Ireland in 06, hence, it’s a overall form perspective of them as horses thats required to find out who’s the most capable, and all I can say is i’m sure in my own mind whatever could beat Dylan on a regular basis should have been installed in a rocket to help it take off! :) And i have to reiterate, if Dylan was genuinly a superstar over 1 mile 4 furlongs why did he not beat Sir Percy in the derby? Too firm? well how can that be? :)

Leave it Marbs!! DT was still improving way back in june where as Sir Percy was as good as he was ever going to be. Thats why for me, the derby is the worst pointer for real 3yo form. I clearly remember Aiden OB saying he’ll improve loads for the run so i murdered the 4-1 available in the irish derby … Even the wonderous Clare Balding tipped it after our derby! that wot swung it for me
