Just a point – Dylan Thomas has been on the go all season yet he still won the Arc. Just goes to show that it can be done so next year when trainers start dodging the King George I’m likely to get quite annoyed.

All this "have to be trained for the Arc" is rubbish, horses don’t win Derby / King George / Arc often because each of those races is very difficult to win you have to be bloody good to win one and with the amount of competition, good competition thats always around its never going to be easy to win everything.

Plus the French have a good record in the Arc because the Arc is run in France their own backyard the same as the Brits have a far better record in the King George than the French do.

Not ALL horses can be kept on the go all season long.Like humans, some love going to work, some dont i guess.Tabor said it was touch and go whether DT would take his chance in the Arc as they had Soldier Of Fortune but Aiden told him the horse NEEDS to race! Some nags take their racing better than others. This also made a mockery of Fabres claim that to win an Arc,’you need a fresh fresh horse’.Who’s to question Aiden though?

YES it was funny.NO Michael Tabor didnt want it repeated.I like the way Claire confidently lets her dark side rear its head.I also liked the way Willie put her straight when she wrongly observed that Authorized had settled nicely…’HE – IS – TUGGING’.When he’s right,by god he’s right!

Alikat, Blue Sovereign and Allow Dancer all doing everything within their power to avoid winning a three-runner, 3m2f novices’ chase at Newton Abbot just over a year ago will live long in the memory.

Im so glad you remembered the race and all the details!! thats mine by a long way.I will never laugh so much in a betting shop as i did that day. They couldnt jump the last and were taking turns in trying. One of the nags belly flopped it and couldnt get free of the birch. They wre actually running back down the track for run ups!! class.

The Pidwell race was at Aintree over 2m4f when he beat Istabraq in heavy ground. He Knocked seven bells out of him but the horse was a tricky ride and pricked his ears at the post the little bugger! He out stayed the champ that day.

With the switch to Ballydoyle I’d expect US Ranger to be far better equipped to deal with Tariq second time around. His victory over six furlongs at the weekend was extremely impressive, not least because he was dropped in rather than allowed to dictate, and looked slightly outpaced three furlongs from home.

Given the lead, over seven furlongs, he’ll be tough to beat.

a couple of things really…switching to ballydoyle may have bought improvement but i cant say US Ranger was that impressive considering the opposition, which werent up to much at all.AS you say too,he seemed to be out paced 3 out which is not good .Tariq wouldnt have been out paced at any point against that lot and is crying out for a mile.Tariq is speedier, stays further and would have every move covered. Also if US Ranger is ridden from the front,i’ll pay you ten times his s.p.!!

It seems Tariq is miles better than his dad (kylachy) and i wouldnt back against him in any race from 7 to a mile.I actually think he would get up to ten furlongs with his stlye of racing and undoubted class.A freak by Kylachy or the dawn of a great stud career? Either way,I’ll be getting the biggest price on him for the Foret and paying for xmas.Good luck to  all that back him.
