Bach Hall – that really is a strange outlook you have there.
Apologist
doesn’t do you justice!
Sometime in the future a jockey will probably ride a finish a circuit too early again. It happens.
People make mistakes.
SWC made one, looked like a prat then tried to salvage face. Not the first person to have done this and won’t be the last. He’s got a ban and his pride’s taken a good kicking. I don’t see any reason to berate him any further.
I think you’re missing the part where he lied. He refuses to even acknowledge his mistake, and so until he does, he deserves all he gets. I’m glad his conduct would do for you.
I’d have no problem if he held his hands up and apologised. And what about the scant disregard for punters?
I expect his father will be disgusted with Sams ‘explanantion’.
It says a hell of a lot about someone when they have the gaul to tell such lies knowing full well nobody will believe them – let alone the complete disregard for punters like me that backed him.
Just apologise and move on, man.
He’s had 2 runs at Cheltenham, OTS.
He sure has Zark.

Grandouet for me every time.
I haven’t seen anything to suggest he doesn’t look happy around Cheltenham; his only run there was a very promising one. Not sure if Brampour will have the toe once things hot up. Bit of rain between now and then will do nicely but, if not, I wont be deterred.
I think he’s the champion hurdler but for Hurricane Fly.
Surley no banned or damned will be allowed in the nominations – it’ll just descend into a rotten clone war!

On reflection, why not.

Rick, some of your threads and posts of late have been some of the best examples of ‘trolling’ I’ve seen on this forum to date, and so the hypocrisy is astounding. And your trolling of Corm and digs at the forum and it’s members, both old and new, really horrible.
You seem to haunt this place more than anything these days.
Can’t help but feel that the Animal Rights people are rubbing their hands with glee at the moment. They’ve lit the blue touch paper and are watching us slowly combust from within.
Do you really think the change is significant enough for the Animal Rights people to claim some sort of victory, Moe? I’d have thought they still think horses are being tortured on a daily basis!
And if they think the sport will combust from within over the issue, then they couldn’t be more wrong.
I’d also add that I didn’t think it was a ‘great ride’ from Coleman at all. I thought he looked clumsy at best. If anyone gets pleasure out of watching a ride like that then I’m afraid we’re on different planets. Not only was he hitting when he should have been riding, several of his smacks were also poorly aimed. One in particular seemed to hit the horse on the back (and it didn’t look to be the end of the whip that made contact either) as he was flailing a bit IMO, probably out of tiredness/desperation.
I cannot understand why people put up rides where the jockey simply thrashes the horse home as indicative of a ‘great ride’.
It was a crap ride. He looked ungainly, broke the rules and lost his share of the prize money. Brilliant stuff.
Come on Corm, every winning ride’s a great ride – even more so when the winning jock cops a ban. Get with it lad.
That can’t be right. It seems a terribly harsh penalty for trying your best.
I once got 3 points and a £60 fine for ‘trying my best’ to get someones dog to the vet before it died. Harsh, eh? I expected it, though, because I knew full well that doing 60mph in a 40mph zone wouldn’t go unpunished. Coleman’s also aware of the rules.
The rules exist.
My eyes actually bled whilst watching the Sandown card today. My fellow connoisseurs will know what I’m talking about. They see it, you see.
It looked fine to me. Could you or a fellow connoisseur explain to me what was so awful about it?
You’d better ask them, because I’m not one of them. You see, my failure to notice how many times a jockey gives his mount a tap in the last furong sets us apart, so I’m told. I also haven’t stopped loving what I’m seeing (neither have they, really).
My post was just a bit of sarcasm!
@Ricky – Elkie B >>> Chris Rea.Oh, it’s all fun and games
now

Let it play on, I say

But that’s still 0.009 up for the same period last year, and it’s only logical to expect things to get worse.

"Victim of the new whip rules"?
Oh please!

By god, he’s earned it.
Still love it, sadly.
Can’t beat over eating, drinking and then lying still as a steady stream of gas exits…. knowing that one false move could mean the contents of your stomach could end up decorating the living room floor of mum and dads lounge. Nephews, PS3’s, Xbox’s and then more food and booze.
Win.

Funny, I never thought his threads were paticularly popular from memory. They’d only ever get replies from the same 3 or 4 posters before disappearing off the page. Of the 15 replies, 6 would be his own words. Not to say the threads were of no use to the forum.
I miss the entertainment value, but I’m a selfish **** like that.
Sadly, it would seem that Jose 1993 went down with Pinza, and the forum is a lesser place without them.
Judged by the mundanity of recent threads on the main part of the forum, and the concomitant lack of responses, it gets further from intelligent discussion of horse racing, and ever nearer the preserve of the vacant. That’s insulting to those that bother, Reet.
