Mine was merely a token gesture, Ginge. Wouldn’t ask you to justify anything either, although I’m sure you’d have no problem in doing so if I did…
I mean, feeling like taking a swing at someone in a betting shop for not showing due compassion/not giving a toss about a horse that had just fallen? Give me a break!
That
is what I’m talking about.
If some of your were half as distraught as you make out, you wouldn’t be betting on horses. So much sanctimonious bollocks it’s unreal. Still, if it makes you feel better or gives you enough strength for the next ‘click’, it’s all good, innit?

That’s no way to talk about yourself!
What are you on about Ginge? Are you confused? Wasn’t on about you in particular, but I seem to have struck something….

Other sports evolve, so why not racing?
To scrap it could actually be a PR master stroke, if anything. It’d have to be a shown to be a united decision, though, which it obviously wouldn’t be. Problem.
Bit of a shame that the only horse race that gets people bothered has the most fatalities on the racing calender.
What hope?
They were clearly confused as only a small segment was dolled off.
Amazing logic in the explanation given just now..
So the reason they decided to bring the boards in towards the rail to doll the WHOLE fence off, rather than leave them where they were, meaning the…WHOLE fence was
still
dolled off, was…well, it does’t matter does it? It makes no ******* sense at all!
They thought they’d try prevent a possible disaster by almost creating another one. Typical.
Art History ‘brilliant’? Have I missed something?

23 times including 14 after the last?! Surely the ban must come with some maths tutoring thrown in?
Here’s another angle: Sam’s won a GC and a KG on Long Run – a horse who clearly has his jumping problems – so maybe he’s exceptional?!
All said and done, though, it’s a family thing and if his father’s backing his son, then there’s nothing wrong in that, irrespctive of how much better someone else
might
do.
I wont lie though – I wouldn’t mind seeing someone else have a crack. If he were mine, I’d be looking for James Reveley’s phone number.

Merry xmas to all!!

Now get on Long Run and Rock On Ruby and make it a worthwhile one

‘the railway fences at Sandown, a real test’ –
Are they?
Yes, especially if you meet the first one all wrong.
Hang on, there’s another, I think!

"
He didn’t deserve that…
"
I foam at the mouth whenever I hear that said about a horse that has just taken a fall. When
does
a horse deserve it?

Impossible and draw any conclusions on Brampours rating on that run.
The race, for me, on this going was always going to come too soon after his recent handicap exploits, culminating in his gallant run in the Greatwood; that’s four races in just over six weeks!.
In hindsight, connections will be wishing they hadn’t bothered, and it’ll be interesting to see if the race hasn’t hindered the progression of the horse – for the remainder of the season, in any case.
Gibb River jumped poorly, and I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him go novice chasing – infact, I’m scratching my head wondering why he wasn’t tried over fences on his reappearance. The horse just doesn’t show enough respect for his hurdles IMO.
It’s Gibb River for me. The big horse will improve enough to defy the ‘well in’ Brampour.
He can certainly be best described as a ‘squeezer’, can James.
Cracking ride on Karingreason today at Catterick, though. My only criticism of him being he probably has too much faith in the leaders coming back to him at times. You can’t fault his confidence though!
You’d have thought, or hoped, that something might have clicked when he saw the rest of the field motionless on looking over his shoulder turning for home. He must have thought he’d literally rode them all to sleep! I can’t see how any jockey with a sense of feel for what he’s riding can make such a mistake. It really makes you wonder.
He only went and won his final start, coming with a rattle to get up on the jam stick at 16/1. What a story, what a horse!
