D F O’Regan was stood down feeling unwell after his ride on Hurricane Darwin. I backed the horse and it was eye catching, the jockey never even looked like putting it in the race

“I boiled this down to a shortlist of: Misterton, Kayf Grace, Knocknanuss and Silver Streak. I’m not usually one for trends but then I looked at the last ten runnings and it’s startling! All winners aged 5 or 6 and highest winning weight 11st 2lb. Only Silver Streak fits the bill and E/W @ 16/1 1/4, 1-5 that’ll do for me, so I’m with Kev and Charlie.”

is lalor not a contender off 11st 1lb and 6yo?? :good:

I was asked by a friend if there was a preview the night before in Cheltenham on the Monday. Any ideas guys?

    Cheers

the hollow bottom pub does one in the Cheltenham area, I think it is possibly a 15 minute drive.. the owner puts on a minibus to run punters back to Cheltenham/prestbury area. only thing is it may be sold out but worth contacting them by phone and try your luck :good:

Very kind words chaps but my saying has always been “If you want the price to pay you have to pay the price” Quite an original line from me that.Anyway Black Hercules is the sort of horse who will pop up at a double figure price at some point I’m sure, so its only money loaned. :-(

watched the race on the inside of the track last year when he won the JLT.. I had bet Bristol de mai which was just starting to wane when the fellow next to us started going mad shouting black hercules home. turns out it was a vet who had treated the horse for up to a year before the festival, said it had some problems which usually meant the horse would struggle to overcome.. maybe last year was its time :-)

    From Ben Aitken’s blog:

The last 19 Supremes have seen 34 horses try and win the race off the back of only ONE previous hurdle start. They have returned the following figures…

    0/34 | 0% S/R | -£34.00 BFLSP – Win & Place 1/34 | 3% S/R

    Only ONE even PLACED!

My Supreme dark horse is entered on Saturday 3:-D got him at monster prices

another recent stat against melon is the fact since they started watering at the festival to guarantee good to soft for the 1st day no horse has came from the flat and won the race.. unsure without delving deep how many placed, but some high profile flops/losers from that background

I have champers on ice at 16-1 for any race.. started hoping for a soft ground RSA (beat by American at Warwick), I moved on to hoping for a run in the 4 miler (beaten badly on Saturday).. I have now moved onto hoping for a good mark for a handicap and these positive words fill me with hope :good:

    First post. Please be nice.

What are people’s thoughts on Top Ville Ben. Have been impressed so far and wonder if people think he’s likely to head to Supreme if he wins his race on Thursday. Know he’s well thought of but also know NH is well stocked in this department. Still some decent prices available. Am happy with what I’ve got him at for small stakes but tempted for some more.

unsure about any comments from the stable regarding him.. Jenkins, consul de thaix and possibly charli parcs heading here from the stable.. only thing I picked up from his form was he only had raced on right handed tracks including the PTP win

Has to be a slight concern than Neon Wolf was also declared over 2m 5f at Ascot. Not quick enough?

thanks zarkava, maybe a step up in trip required even if it pulls through today

Personally think Elgin has been a tad flattered mainly because of Jenkins poor showing and I think neon wolf will go close tomorrow

a real momentum behind neon wolf to win today.. has there been any word of missing Cheltenham though? seems quite big on oddschecker for the supreme

edit, 50-1 on sportsbook at the moment which I ventured a tenner on
