That was probably one of the worst novice hurdles ever run at Leopardstown and he ends up favourite for the Supreme. What does it say about that race and the number of Willie Mullins lemmings out there? Probably backed every one of his talking horses and now think they have found gold – again! Trained A Nobody and it would be a 20-25/1 chance. Any Second Now is 20/1 and this horse is 5/1. Absolutely crazy.
January 29, 2017 at 14:04 #1284514I will take another look at all the runners before the festival. I like to watch all their races at least twice and then use process of elimination but I never like to have more than 3 fancies in any 1 race.
I think neon wolf goes Neptune so I’ve discounted him until the day.
CDT is currently discounted until I have more info available I.e how Wel it runs in betfair and whether geraghty chooses Charli parcs who I think is better and Nicky I’ll know aswell.
I haven’t actually looked much at any second nowJanuary 29, 2017 at 14:15 #1284517Hi Jas, If you watch Crack Mome hurdle, he’s a real speedster. He fell short at grade 1 level but Ruby got off him and said he hated the ground and would be a different animal on quicker.
?
Ted Walsh said it’d be wishful thinking Any Second Now could win at Cheltenham + Ruby said he was disappointed with Crack Mome.

If you fancy the horse, then back it. Connections we’re a bit chilly on going to the fez after it won the Moscow Flyer so maybe have the 12s NRNB rather than the 20s on offer elsewhere. Just a thought tho mate

Ruby said that any second now went past him very quickly after the last but he hated the ground.
Makes for an interesting opener for the fez
January 29, 2017 at 18:07 #1284587Melon ahead of Moon Racer in the betting

Well done those on a price but I wouldn’t touch Melon at 5/1. Wins a weak race (albeit impressively) and is catapulted to the head of supreme market. A testament perhaps to how open/weak this race is.

Or something else…

Oh no, Not the CDT band wagon again boys
LOLJanuary 29, 2017 at 18:31 #1284592That’s not at all what I meant…you say it’s a testament to how open/weak it is. I say it’s a testament to something else.
January 29, 2017 at 18:34 #1284594I didn’t say that mate, thats from Charlies quote. Explain your thoughts tho please – i may of missed something

January 29, 2017 at 19:13 #1284605First post. Please be nice.
What are people’s thoughts on Top Ville Ben. Have been impressed so far and wonder if people think he’s likely to head to Supreme if he wins his race on Thursday. Know he’s well thought of but also know NH is well stocked in this department. Still some decent prices available. Am happy with what I’ve got him at for small stakes but tempted for some more.
January 29, 2017 at 20:02 #1284613As someone who has Melon to win any race at the festival at 16/1 I think he did enough today to keep the dream alive. Would like to see him again though, before the supreme

The chat after the race was that he’d go straight to the fez mate

unsure about any comments from the stable regarding him.. Jenkins, consul de thaix and possibly charli parcs heading here from the stable.. only thing I picked up from his form was he only had raced on right handed tracks including the PTP win

Ruby’s quote in the post-race interview was “He’d need another run”

Charlie, and not you, says Melon being favourite is a testament to a weak/open race. I say it’s a testament to something else.
