The thing that interested me, is the owner said he’d never been to watch one of his horses before but he promised Willie whenever this one ran he’d be there to see him.

Interesting…
I suppose with this horse the advantage is he could be anything whereas the other horses in the supreme are a little more exposed and more likely to know what you are getting. Of course there are other who are totally unexposed aswell but melon was impressive. Don’t agree with 5/1 thoughJanuary 30, 2017 at 08:24 #1284720Also broken souls only previous run over hurdles in his maiden is very good reading just behind anibale fly . In front of Sutton place, and a few decent horses back in the field although they have all obviously progressed from there maiden
January 30, 2017 at 08:26 #1284721I don’t agree with 5/1 at this stage it’s obviously not just the stand alone form they are pricing up. But if people back at that price there not going to lay bigger odds
January 30, 2017 at 08:30 #1284722Yes I agree that as far as form
Is concerned I believe it will work out Well as you say broken souls I believe will end up being a decent yardstick and will win races himself. And they were clear of the 3rd.January 30, 2017 at 09:19 #1284723Any idea why Charlie parcs being cut for supreme?
January 30, 2017 at 09:21 #1284724McManus has an army in the triumph hurdle and he was bound to send at least 1 to the supreme.
Henderson said CP was a triumph horse then he said the other day triumph and supreme are possibilities.
I’m confident he will end up supreme if he does he gets my bet for sureJanuary 30, 2017 at 09:51 #1284726At that price you’d think he’d be a confirmed runner.
Last I heard he’s likely 2 have 2 runs before the festival at Musselburgh in the Scottish triumph hurdle and the adonis.
January 30, 2017 at 10:04 #1284727Yea I heard the same and I think he will win both and there’s a chance he goes off favourite for supreme
January 30, 2017 at 12:15 #1284748Melon ran 2m hurdles in 3m47s yesterday. Conditions certainly suited (petit mouchoir ran ridiculously fast – I’ll post on other thread in a sec) but he looks fast and really smart hurdling bar last 2. I’m a huge moon racer fan and have put my hand in my pocket accordingly but I think Melon and Neon Wolf now form a formidable top 3 in this race. Genuinely think others are a long way off these 3
January 30, 2017 at 12:30 #1284753The vibes are neon wolf goes Neptune.
4 I’ve bet antepost is
Jenkins 20/1 and 8/1
Melon 10/1
Charli parcs 12/1
Moon racer 10/1
I’d be disappointed if I didn’t get the winnerJanuary 30, 2017 at 12:51 #1284757There is no chance Neon Wolf wins this.

Neptune or no show for the wolf in my opinion
January 30, 2017 at 13:58 #1284766From Ben Aitken’s blog:
The last 19 Supremes have seen 34 horses try and win the race off the back of only ONE previous hurdle start. They have returned the following figures…
0/34 | 0% S/R | -£34.00 BFLSP – Win & Place 1/34 | 3% S/R
Only ONE even PLACED!
My Supreme dark horse is entered on Saturday 3:-D got him at monster prices
January 30, 2017 at 15:41 #1284790You really shouldn’t read too much into this…different years, different generations of horses, etc, but Vautour went off at 7/2f in the Supreme after this:

Given this post and the stats above, Melon is an awful 4/1f.
January 30, 2017 at 18:35 #1284830Interesting posts Zark. I actually agree that 4/1 is a miserable price for a once raced maiden winner. The price is based on potential and who trains it.
Very interesting and informative posts tho

another recent stat against melon is the fact since they started watering at the festival to guarantee good to soft for the 1st day no horse has came from the flat and won the race.. unsure without delving deep how many placed, but some high profile flops/losers from that background
