Yet when making such statements, they are the only things with which we can compare them.
Douvan’s jumping is sloppy? He is renowned for his effortless, low, accurate jumping, which is ideal for a two mile chaser. The fracture didn’t play as much of a part? You try running 2 miles with a fractured hip. Newbury Altior would jump him inside out? Douvan is on the ground to the other side while Altior is still hanging up in the air, as he tends to do with his exuberance. For a man with a name such as yours, you dont seem to know a how a top 2 mile chaser should jump.
With his unbeaten streak lost, I suspect connections to be a lot braver with him next season, and we will see what he is truly made of in the Tingle Creek et al.
And you dont really think Fox Norton improved 50 odd lengths do you? Really?
I think he’d smash Douvan over 2 miles
Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t Douvan’s Arkle win 7 seconds faster than Altior? And if we want to use Altior’s Newbury run as a benchmark for his greatness, Douvan has beaten Fox Norton by 32 lengths and 11 lengths to Altiors 13 on ground which clearly suited Altior over Fox Norton.
Now I do think Altior is the real deal, but to say he would ‘smash’ Douvan over 2 miles is quite ridiculous.
Couldn’t agree more, after being outpaced down the hill in both the Neptune and the Champion he stayed on well up the run in. Hopefully he will be another exciting addition to the staying chasing division.
One of my more detestable bets, but after seeing some of the ante-post value punters got on Melon this year I wanted in on the party.
Currently waiting on a price from PP for Choungaya to win the Triumph 2018. He was bought by Harold Kirk for Mullins last July for 165,000 euros at the Goffs Land Rover Sale (a record for this particular sale).
He’s a 3 year old by Walk In The Park who needs no introduction ,and his second dam is the winner of 13 races in France. I’ll be happy to have a nibble if he’s anything between 75 and 50/1. Also requested a price for him to win the Supreme 2019 which sounds ridiculous but I’ll happy to throw something small on and forget about it.
Something interesting to keep an eye on for the upcoming season at the very least.
I’ve backed at this early stage : -Might Bite – Gold Cup 14/1
-Apples Jade – Stayers 14/1
-Min – Champion Chase 12/1
-Disko – Ryanair 20/1
-Monalee – RSA 16/1
-Yorkhill and Un De Sceaux for the King George 10/1 and 14/1 respectively.I will probably add Might Bite to my King George book as 5/1 will look a silly price if he turns up in any kind of form.
I can’t believe River Wylde hasn’t even been mentioned for this. His form runs quite deep and not without quality, Elgin and Capitaine tying in with both Finian’s Oscar and Neon Wolf. He jumps very very smoothly and seems an uncomplicated ride. His form seems a lot more solid than that of Movewiththetimes for example, even taking into account the Betfair Hurdle, yet at 12/1 he is twice the price.
Mullins went through all his runners today and he mentioned Redhotfillypeppers for this race. She was ultra impressive for me on her previous two runs and 16/1 Nrnb seems more than fair.
Native River very weak on the exchanges.
Burst a blood vessel in his nose. Hopefully wont affect him running.
Sorry it was a false rumour, Tizzard came out and said he’s in in rude health. As for Melon? We can only hope.
Melon on the drift also not looking good.

I may have lost it, but Tea For Two 66/1 1/4 odds. Based purely off this season’s form he could be right up there at the last.
Seek help my friend
Probably a fair diagnosis.

Well that didn’t go to plan at all. What a game of football with two horrible back lines. More in play action is required to be profitable , Monaco were a big lay at 3-3 with that defence.
I did 1-1 on Sky s6
Good luck Voleur. Let’s hope I’m wrong!!!
Just realised I left out one of the most probable results of the game.
Gonna throw that into the calculator now
Sorry, thank you!
On ratings Djakadam is right up there with the rest of them. I can easily see him turning for home with Native River. After the last and up the hill its anyones race.
Having said that I hope Cue Card beats them all!
Hope he comes back better than ever, torn tendon is a nasty one. Cheltenham is all about seeing the superstars in action, the only two left that truly fit that bill are Douvan and Altior.
