Thats a good shout, can’t really see past Fox Norton however if Altior is pulled out.
All doors are wide open, nothing will be getting confirmed
decisions will be made as late as possible, you can’t rule out Arkle as if anything happens to Douvan Altior will get rerouted. If anything happens to Douvan, Altior would then have Un De Sceaux to contend with. If the conditions were right Im not sure I’d be confident taking on UDS.
The Wylies should send Yorkhill to the Champion Hurdle, and this is coming from someone who has him in several bets for the JLT. This would be their best chance of winning a CH, maybe ever. He is still a young horse and if they still want to go chasing there is always next year, where the extra experience is sure to be hugely beneficial and the dominant forces of this season have waned a little.
Lets not forgot that Willie probably intends to step Douvan up next year, so would he really want the two of his best horses- presuming we don’t see Faugheen again- running in the same division? Different owners and all that but that would just be so un-Mullins-like.
Yorkhill -if anything- is surely rerouted to the Champion Hurdle. Based on his last performance over fences he definitely doesn’t jump well enough to beat Altior in the Arkle.
EDIT: mixed up my races
Vaniteux is 85/1, surely there is e/w value there?
Slight knock to Whisper’s form with Clan Des Obeaux well beaten. Have a feeling this horse will be totally ground dependant, Nicholls wouldn’t speak so highly of him if there was nothing special to him, unless he feels the pressure to do given his owner.
However, I am very jealous of anybody who has Top Notch at 20s, what a classy little animal! Only worry is he could be done for speed on better ground..
Any thoughts on Mullins’ mare Redhotfillypeppers? (great name) Was very impressive LTO but so far no clue as to where she will run. Currently trading at 27.0
Looks like Vroom Vroom needs a trip after that Donny run so defo no Champ Hurdle. Not sure where she fits in this year
Funny about Maggy, I feel it was more the ground than the trip that exposed her. It always looked like she wanted to go and zoom up past Midnight Jazz but the ground just sucked up all her speed. She did beat Identity Thief over 2 miles which is probably her best form to date.
With a dangerous looking Apples Jade waiting down the Mares route your guess is as good as mine as to where she goes.
Paddy Power @ 7/2 is even funnier

that can only mean one thing….
I can see the headlines already.. Is now the time to make a move on Yorkhill?
I’m amazed Yorkhill didn’t get an entry…Just in case the impossible happened, both ‘Annie’ and ‘faugheen’ never made it.

Mullins was interviewed a couple of weeks ago, may have only been last week, and I quote him here: I could go back hurdling in a flash. I’m surprised I even went novice chasing with him this year.”
We know Mullins is not afraid to supplement a super sub and lately his usual suspect VVM doesn’t seem to have it in her to win a Champion Hurdle (although I wouldn’t write her off just yet). If Yorkhill runs he wins, seems like such an easy decision.
Thats A Wrap is the one that catches my eye, a progressive handicapper off a mark of 127 trained by Tom Millins, bearing in mind the Irish have won 8 of the last 13 runnings. He does seemingly have a preference for softer ground though, that being the main concern. I’d like to see a market form on the exchanges first before I can try and discern where the value might be.

he each way part of MYOY is a solid bet
Rumour has it MTOY is bound for the county hurdle. JP is stacked to the brim in this race as it stands.
Jumping obviously a concern but isn’t it the same with Faugheen? A good strong pace would clean out his jumping and if he were allowed to go out and get everything his own way I think he’d be very hard to peg back (especially if it were anyway heavy).
Bearing in mind I have absolutely no doubt in my mind we’ll never see this happening but nevertheless thought Id throw it up for discussion.
Is it set in stone Bristol de Mai is going for the Gold Cup? Bit of a shame really, still only 6 years old plenty of time to have a crack at it. Can be matched at 47s for this one and even the 10s with NRNB isn’t unbackable.
Although Im sure Thistlecrack getting beat today wont help the chances of him running here.
Oh wow, no don’t do that, please. He’s the slowest slow thing ever. No chance. I think they’d be better off getting his mark down and putting him in a National.
Suit yourself. He has Cheltenham form which for me is one of THE most important factors to condsider when backing at the festival considering how unique a track it is, over a similar trip aswell. Plus he has an obvious preference for fast spring ground. By no means a nap but 66s is far too big to ignore.
Ill be snapping up the 63s on offer for Irish Cavalier! Probably smarter to go for the 33s and get NRNB but when has ante post gambling ever been smart
You sound confused. UDS was originally trained to be a champion hurdle horse. He might not have the raw speed of a typical ch winner but neither does Yanworth who sits at the top of the field bar Faugheen.
edit: I should add I can only see this happening if it were anyway soft come March.
