This is going to be one of those threads that confirm my legendary status and how TAPK with the Odds staked massively against him comes out smelling like a Lemon finger in a Gingerbread factory. The once 7/1 fav Black Hercules has blotted his copybook every occassion he’s ran this season and yet I still believe due to the sheer size of this beast he has been schooled in public for one target all year and its this.I may be wrong, not for the first time but Willie entering him in the Queen Mother is just a case of ‘just in case anything happens to ‘Douvan and Un des sceaux’ he’ll have a runner.Anyway I’ve been taking all those silly 20’s plus this morning to £100 on the machine,he’ll turn blue by tonight….And then be confirmed a N/R.
If the Herc does turn up it in my opinion is a case of ‘Heads he wins, tails he comes Nowhere’,thats basically a reflection of his 50% strike rate 7 from 14 with no 2nd places and I’m delighted to have all those fancy prices for what on his day is a horse easily capable of winning this even with ‘Un des Scaeaux’ running…Ruby will be on mine.February 5, 2017 at 14:19 #1285950That’ll be Frodon franking the December Gold Cup form in very nice style there
February 6, 2017 at 12:21 #1286117Vaniteux is 85/1, surely there is e/w value there?
February 7, 2017 at 14:37 #1286287Backed Bristol De Mai for this at 75. Just £6 on, incase he runs here. Looks Gold Cup bound and looks to have a good chance of winning the Denman Chase on Saturday.
More importantly however Road to Riches is entered in the Irish Hennessy, which is superb news as I’ve got him at very big prices for this. We really need to see some kind of spark from him. A top 3 finish would be superb.
And Kylemore Lough was briefly available at 55 and 60 a couple of days ago so I snaffled it all up. Also backed him to win the Ascot Chase at 12/1.
February 7, 2017 at 15:26 #1286297Ar Mad is out of Cheltenham so another contender for this gone

Really? He literally beat nothing at Musselburgh…

NO! Be amazed if connections go for the Ryanair, Voleur. Suspect Vaniteux will go for the 2m handicap chase which is named after the trainer’s father. Has a much better chance in that and is around 16/1.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 9, 2017 at 08:52 #1286536I’m quite strong on the chances of Cue Card in this. Never felt he truly stayed 3m and contra to what some have previously stated, I think he has plenty of speed for 2m 5f. He Cheltenham record is 1124U21F and he will be nice and fresh for it too. Mind you, I think the last time I tipped a festival winner it was Cue Card to win the Bumper!

I think he’s Gold Cup bound after the Thistlecrack defeat.
I should of cashed out.
February 9, 2017 at 09:45 #1286538Bishop already said gold cup
February 9, 2017 at 09:54 #1286540Well I hope that the trainer can convince her to run him in a race he can win as opposed to one he can’t.
February 9, 2017 at 10:04 #1286543Hasnt run at the ryanair distance in two years, was beaten 26l, last time he won at 2m 5 was 2013, hes a different horse now, hes every bit a 3m+ horse, if he runs anywhere near his best he will be bang there, put a line through the king george run, clearly ran well below form/small field race didnt suit
If theres any soft in the description at cheltenham, and a big field turns up which it definitely will now that TC lost, he has every chance of winning this GC as he did last year
Couldnt have him winning a ryanair now personally
February 9, 2017 at 10:53 #1286550Cue Card goes gold cup and hopefully, with a decent run on Sunday, so does Sizing John. Field slowly depleating
February 9, 2017 at 11:20 #1286551I take onboard the feedback about not running 2m 5f for

I take on board the fact he hasn’t run over 2m 5f for 2 years and was beaten by 26L that day too (though Don Cossack wasn’t too shabby was he) but I do think the distance beaten was somewhat down to the mistake at 3 out.
I do though struggle to see him staying 3m 2f on heavy ground with that uphill finish at Cheltenham. As well as he was going last year I still believe he’s have emptied up the hill. My thing is this: If it’s heavy, I see a stablemate of his staying on dourly and beating him, if it’s good ground, I see a stablemate of his leaving him turning in. So either way, I just can’t see him winning the GC.
I assume the trainer may feel similarly hence the entry in the Ryanair and I firmly believe that if Tizzard owned all 3 horses, Cue Card would run in the Ryanair.
February 9, 2017 at 16:24 #1286570With Tizz mentioning a ‘hankering about the Ryanair’ for Fox Norton, I’ve taken 14s NRNB which seems a generous price

That may have been a wise decision.

That was a nice run from RTR. Hopefully they’ll put him in the Ryanair again.
