‘Yes, we tried to rush him back and as a result he has overcompensated and broken down proper in front. This of course, happened about 2 weeks ago as you cant scan and make a decision until the initial inflammation has gone down. The horse now needs a year minimum off the track, and after that if anything else goes he would be for the bullet. Then there would be no extra cash from nominations at all.’
I have just read the article on the RP site.
I cant quite believe they actually print such rubbish in the belief that anyone in the industry will believe it.I chose francome/Mcgrath.
My dream duo would be Williamson/Francome.Yes, but if it is a new injury he wouldnt have been fired yet.
Well, in my opinion, if a horse isnt fit to canter he shouldnt be on a horsewalker – that is rushing it.
RP states 5% damage, so I have every confidence he’ll make a sound return if hes chucked out in a field for a year.I dont think we are getting the full story.
If he’s going on a horsewalker there cant be a lot wrong with him tendon wise. The thing is that racing is a sport.
If you compare it to the sport with the highest public profile, football, would you ever want it to go that way?
Football is big because the whole team situation inspires yob culture – I dont think that will ever be racing’s appeal (although god knows they are trying).
I think a figurehead that appeals to the younger members of society would be a great bonus to the sport. They are trying to establish Michael Owen as one, but I think that can only happen if the yard is very succesful. Which lets face it, a lot of those set-ups are’nt.August 28, 2007 at 04:22 in reply to: Who’s let down their tycoon owners the most, Jonjo or Saeed? #112676I dont think Jonjo’s the problem, more the horses.
They seem to be everywhere, in every race. I cant think of another ‘big’ owner that has so many running in moderate races, on moderate tracks.
I remember being pleasantly surprised by Jonjo’s stats the other day, for so far this season. They compare very favourably with the rest of the top 10.Nayo,
Do you know who it was that threatened him and his wife at Chepstow last week?Nayo, Can I ask if you go by the same alias on the Betfair forum?

Looking forward to all jumping. Love Well Chief, Exotic Dancer. Most looking forward to seeing a bumper horse I have just sold to Alan King. Please do not support an organisation that campaigns to ban horseracing, by upping the hits on its site.
This is a good site for Irish races:
http://www.irish-racing.com/v3fixtures?prv=4Red Lancer
(unplaced in a seller, claimed and went on to win the chester vase Gp3 – the infamous ‘red lancer affair’)
Beat me to it.

These horses commonly get put straight back into sellers for one reason only – the trainer got it home and found something desperately wrong with it.
I know of one horse whos races went like this:
2nd – Claimed for £6k
1st – Brought for £12k
1st – Brought for £9k
That horse had more cortisone running through his veins than blood, the 3rd buying trainer finally did the decent thing and retired it.They also need to develop an understandng of the industry they are attcking. They come across as naive and unknowledgable.
C, Animal Aid are well known to be unreasonable nutcases. I went on their site once to find a photo of a horse ‘falling to its death in the grand national’. The horse was Escartifigue, who never even fell, and was still running in points years later!
This site interests me, a registered charity. I dont know if they get any funding off the ROR, but ill be damn angry if I find out any percentage of my entry fees makes their way to them. Click for the page ‘ends up on a french dinner plate’.
They have also rang me up, offering their services for recuperation/box rest etc.
Do they really think they are going to be supported by anyone in the racing industry if they are known to have links with associations like this?
http://www.midlandracehorsecarecentre.org.uk/Ahh, I misunderstood what you meant by space. I take it to mean gaps in form.
What you describe is the difference bewteen someone who understands racing, and someone who just takes form at face value.
In my opinion, of course.
