I reckon your young lad asked the best question of Lucinda Russell, "How do you train a racehorse?". An obvious question perhaps, but not one a lot of us would know the answer to!
It was great to meet up with everyone.
Cormack tells you about my shortlist. What he doesn’t tell you was that I passed on Witch Wind because of the price, picked the wrong one out of Ryeminster and Lucky Nellerie, and finally bailed myself out with the winner of the closing bumper! Too much talking in the bar to concentrate on betting!
The antics of Ella Macadella before the second last had the crowd in fits. She raced around the inside and outside of the course, with her jockey perched on the back of a persuing quad bike!

Come on, get with it! These days it’s either the Czech Republic or Slovakia!
Not sure what happened to the poor residents of O though!

Advance weather forecast is reasonable at the moment, no significant rain forecast and Sunday cloudy. Cloud is what’s needed otherwise they take out the jumps in the straight.
The Class 2 Novice chase has a decent entry, and looks a decent event if a few stand their ground.

Simply a case of if it is proven as not very good at winning, there doesn’t seem much added point in making it seem not very good at winning!
Rob
It does seem slightly odd that connections should be done for ‘avoiding winning’ with a horse which has made a career of doing just that!
Rob
clearly not interested in the racing then!
"The future of racing" was meant to have opened last autumn!

A career built on total stupidity!
Apparently she’s on £310,000 to be in the BB House. Stupidity pays dividends it seems!

Quote: from FlatSeasonLover on 10:19 am on Dec. 27, 2006[br]William Hills claim to offer the most competitive prices on the high street. I was looking at the market for the Queen Mother Champion Chase with quite a few firms and the 1 thing that struck me (aside from the bad price on the horse I liked) was how bad William Hill’s prices really are. For some unknown reason they have decided to include Kauto Star in their betting for it. ÂÂÂ
Would you believe this pathetic organisation is still advertising Kauto Star at 4/5 for the Champion Chase???
The horse would be unlikely to be any shorter if he were to run; how desperate are they for the mug money?

Right, put yourself in the position of the bookmaker. Let’s say I reckon will run in the Queen Mother Champion Chase and I’ve got £10,000 to put on the Kauto Star(…..if only!). What odds would you give me at this time?

It’s in my diary so, barring the return of the monsoon season, I expect to be there.

Quote: from Zoz on 7:30 pm on Jan. 9, 2007[br]No change of luring everyone over to Fakenham before the end of the season, I suspect…
That’d just be cruel of me, really.
We’ve got friends who live near King’s Lynn, so as long as it’s during the Scottish school holidays (my wife’s a teacher), then I may well be interested. I haven’t been to Fakenham, so the chance of a ‘tick’ would be welcome!
Rob
I’m not sure it’s necessarily a good guide to jockeys’ relative abilities, more to the value of their mounts in the market.

Quote: from doyley on 1:08 pm on Jan. 4, 2007[br]> Taggart actually visited a Racecourse [Jumps], could not recognize it, possibly Kelso. He ordered an immediate Dope Test on horse prior to it entering the Parade Ring. It was confirmed it was doped within 2 minutes ??? Superb, a 2 minute dope test…all horses should under go the test prior to EVERY Race.
I’m pretty sure it was Ayr racecourse.
The continuity of the racecourse shots left much to be desired. Within the same fairly short conversation there were shots in the following order
a) horses circling the paddock with jockeys mounted
b) horses circling the paddock with no jockeys
c) horses returning to the unsaddling enclosure
Then again, I’m probably the only sad b****** who noticed!
But most importantly, the programme had it’s usual sponsor, the letter R, as in MURRRRDERRRR.

I note that Leslingtaylor is entered for the Tolworth Hurdle at Sandown on Saturday.
Rob
I think I can probably make it. Might have to give football a miss on the Saturday to get a pass for the Sunday, but I reckon I can make it!
