Thanks for the tip Mesh.
Using violence against people because they don’t believe in what you believe in!!!!

Thats it. Im turning English Conservative , possibly with a slight leaning towards American Republicanism. My association with pools of innocent blood will be a thing of the past.

In anyways, me mammy would kill me if she heard I had been hanging around beating women up.
Oh well I’m probably one of the easiest targets: I work for the Conservatives

Sorry for your troubles. (Target, Take Aim, Fire)

Hey Lads,
Just a few words on other teams it might be worth having a look at.
Normally I would automatically write of English club chances in the Uefa Cup because, for me, teams outside of the top four in the Enlgish Premier League are way out classed by their outside the top four conterparts in other top european leagues. This year, however, there seems to be this theory amoung the likes of Sir Alex, Wenger, and Jose that there has been (due to the recent foreign investment, TV deals etc) a closing of the gap by those clubs outside the top four. Blackburn , Tottenham , Villa , Everton etc. It will be interesting to see if this closing of the gap translates from the prem league to the Uefa Cup competition.
Personally speaking I would have to witness this before I would be willing to put my money on it.
Ones to look at for me this year are:
Bayern Munich 4/1,. These lads will walk away with the German league this year. They have brought in a number of very good players after the humiliation of missing out on Champs league place last year. Toni, Ribery, and Klose were all top signings and if they can get the league under control, which is very possible, then they will be left able to focus on Euro glory and the restoration of pride.
Apparently there was an add being run before their campaign started which was of people running screaming down the streets to the sound of Star Trek music as a dark shadow decended. The headline read "The Empire Strikes Back".
They mean business this year and will have this competition firmly in sight.
Fiorentina 18/1. Young , Hungry team. They did lose top striker Toni to Bayern in the summer but Chelsea old boy Mutu has so far proved more than capable of taking burden. Last year looked more like the player he was when Chelsea came knocking. Very , very difficult to beat at home and should make it to later stages. Difficult tie to Gronnigen next so should learn more about what they are made of after that.
Hamburg 40/1. Sneaky one here. Bremen , Schalke and Stuttgart are not firing so far this year so Hamburg may be the team left putting up a futile resistence to Munich in Germany this year. Muller said as much before the two teams met last week in a 1-1 draw. Good result for Hamburg considering what Bayern had already done to the likes of Bremen already this season (4-1 away win). Chaps league two seasons ago ( admittedly destroyed) so recent euro expierience should stand.
One lesson.
Don’t bother backing horses at the festival get on the exchanges and set yoursefl up as a bookie. In my memory I can only think of one year that the bookies had it bad and we never heard the end of it. They used it as their excuse for not giving on ounce of value for the rest of the year….. not that they ever do give value…but that year they managed to give less
Apart from that I’ve learned not to over commit and have massive liabilities going into the festival. This year i did not have one single pre festival bet and as a result by the time I actually hit a bet i wasn’t so far behind that I managed to level myself off.
Great call EC,
THE OUTLAW JOSEY WALES
Brilliant
Fair enough clivex. Thats why i disregarded the way he wrote it and said the point regarding British racing industry in its current state was a valid.
Again I’m sure i will labled as some Nationalistic moron but if I was British and horse’s from another country who’s horse racing industry is not the same as mine were over winning every good race in sight. I’d be asking questions and demanding improvements.
What fun is it for everyone if its Irish one two three’s in the championship race. I want competitive races. Two great Irish horse , Two great scotish horses , Two great English horse going head to head. Obviously an ideal. Not syaing If your Irish you have to back Irish or English you have to back English.
For me a good competition adds spice to an event. As long as its frinedly then there is no problem.
Didn’t agree with the C4 chelts flag/scoreboard. Sad.
Dare an Irish person voice an opinion. for ****
sakeFare enough LGR. Its fine for horse racing if the British racing industry is terminal decline. It bothers me not one ounce. Although given your proclaimed love of the sport surely a strong Britsh industry would be best for all concerned.
Regarding your "were all one when doing good argument"
It reminds me of the Man Utd. Juve semi final. Roy Keane scores the headed goal from the corner. "When was the last time a british captain lifted the european cup" the commentator exictedly shouted. Moments later he tackles Nedved ( I think) Yellow card. " He’s misses the final….the Irish man won’t make the final". He must have meant British in the sense that Man utd are a british club i thought to myself. Next thing the camera pans down to Peter Scmichael . "When was the last time a Danish captain lifted the cup? "
I hate to break it too you mate but the Irish horse racing industry is not the British horse raceing industry. To refuse to eneter into a debate on how British racing industry can be improved because you refuse to accept that they are in fact two seperate countries running their industries in two seperate ways is a bit sad.
I tell you what. Were one and the same. Alls good in the hood.
Sometiems difference can be a good thing. Ye know. Just becasue you say someting is different does not mean you are saying it is good or bad . Just different mate ….thats all ….just different.
Whatever you think about his style of writing his general point regarding the state of the English/British horse racing industry as opposed to the its Irish counterpart is a valid. For the second year running in National hunt the Irish horse have won almost every race of note and the flat outlook is not much better. That looks like it will continue for some time to come. The British horse racing industry is in serious quality decline. Some needs to say it. What ever way they dress it up.

Wouldn’t worry about it. Once of and minor.
,rather than the sectarian garbage that goes on during july.
They had planned to carry the picture of Robert McConnell who was a dual member of the Ulster Defence Regiment and Ulster Volunteer Force. He murdered scores of Catholics in the 1970s.
He played a part in the 1974 Dublin and Monaghan bombings in which 33 people died. Twenty-six died in the Dublin attack. The mass murderer was shot dead by the IRA in 1976.
Anyway.
I heard that the riot was actually a result of the death of a young man from Inner city in his prison cell two days prior to the march. The Prison said that he had commited suicide. People who knew him said that he displayed no suicidal tendancys. The prison completely refurbished the cell within two days of the alleged suicide. Gangs of inner city youths who knew him took the advantage of the Garda presence to vent.

You won’t learn much from this thread. What next slooch. The ground breaking statistic that you shouldn’t back chasers who carry more than 11 stone in the handicap chases.

He then goes on to set up another thread under the dubious title of "trends" . Apparently he is only able to point to four horses that trends show can’t win. All four horses are Irish. He then refers to the first contributer to his thread as "jackass". Maybe he is a genuine poster. Maybe this thread is about trends.
Whatever.
