Ok LGR …

I’ll hold your hand while i make my point and maybe you won’t feel that i’m stopping you from voicing your view.

Again i can not agrre with your assertion that Azerty was beaten by jockeyship.
Your main point seems to be around the idea that if Ruby had somehow applied preasure earlier that moscow would have panicked / fallen or some such.

I can’t see how you can argue that a horse that has won An arkle, A champion Chase… two Tingle Creeks and a Mum Melling along with multiple other races (23 all told) has never been put under pressure.
That this is some how a horse that when he is put under presure loses the race. That the reason he fell at chelt was because for the first time in in his racing life a horse/jockey came upsides him.

I’m sorry LGR but i can’t agree that Moscow has only ever won easy races.
Ok. Fair enough Robgom.

Then the point should be that that Moscow flyer is under rated and Azerty is very much over rated.
His run in the Vc amounted to nothing more than the fact that he had maintained his previous Arkle form.

His victory in this years Champion shows little as his only in anyway serious contender fell before the race got serious.

The idea that Ruby walsh’s move caused Moscow to fall is in my opinion laughable. As Barry said later Moscow went to Cheltenham a fresh horse. This was the reason he fell and not because of unbearable presure brought about by Ruby making a move forward. (Is the suggestion that no horse has ever made a move to pass moscow in a race before)

Sour grapes is the reaction of the owner who, after he has won an Arkle and a Champion chase for him, decided to publicly questions rubys ride in his after race interview.

Ian I don’t think anyone is suggesting that there is now an any price you want for Azerty if they meet again.

The fact is that Moscow flyer won. He beat him fair and square. This is the second time he has beaten him. They have met three times. Moscow fell once and the other two times Azerty has been beaten straight up.

What we have now after the race is as far as i can see is a case of sour grapes by the Azerty fans who thought Azerty would win and show himself as the true Champion chaser. This did not happen.

Through out this thread the Azerty Fans have tried to put forward several reasons why Moscow won…….other than the fact that he is the bets horse.

    Apprently Moscow won becasue…….

Sandown apparently doesn’t suit Azerty (on another track he would win)

Ruby walsh is a bad jockey( He should have put Moscow under presure and made him fall)

Its the ratings you see ( Azerty ran below his best rating……. because you see if he had ran up to his rating then it would have been he who was the winner and not Moscow)

The fact is Moscow won….. P nicholls said before the race there would be no excuses. He lost…………NO EXCUSES.

Moscow was the best hurdler….is the best Chaser and withhout doubt the class act between them.

    Deal with it boys.

    I hope so Empty.

Moscow is a seriously underated horse. As a hurdler he beat the Mighty Istabraq and if it had not have been for the foot and mouth could easily have gone on to become champion hurdler that year.

    Pure class.
Well done Moscow.

He played for them previously in the 1980’s ? but was ‘forced’ into a transfer over gambling debts.
.

Explain the Gambling debts bit Alcatraz….. sounds interesting!

    LGR,

The statement wasn’t that he was the best speed chaser in training but simply the best Chaser.
And if all of the above go chasing this year then they qualify as chasers in training. Aperformance ofer 3mile or3mile-2 furlong can be just as impresive and highly rated a performance as one which takes place over 2 mile.

Azerty is the one to beat but it is a bit premature to be calling him the bets chasing horse in training after one race in November at Exeter. Not only has he not met any of the main contenders in his own 2 mile division but the main contenders for "best chasing horse in training" in other divisions have yet to appear on the scene.

Has done all that has been asked of him Empty (very impressive at Aintree). But for me it is very often the case that with a pipe horse they tend not to train on (even though he did win the triumph previous to last year) . Strange that he is so lightly campaigned for a pipe horse.

Again he has done nothing wrong as of yet so must be included in the possible stars this year.

By premature i meant that we have yet to see the top class chasers out this season so it is hard to hold a case that he is the best chaser in training.

Best performance we have seen so far yes but that is as far as i would go just yet.

Moscow flyer , Strong flow , Iris Gift ,Fundamentalist (if they go chasing) to name a few that may yet prove to be the bets chaser in training.
Thats leaving out Best mate who will be going for a four timer in the Gold cup this year.

I have just Backed the one

Peter Lonard 100/1 ( if he won i wouldn’t be able to sleep at night kowing i had missed him)….gone pretty close last two years in this event.Think he was about two shots of lead final round last year but blew it within 5 holes. Good performence in the Scotts last week shows he is in good heart so worth a go.

Aslo like the look of McGinly as top Irish Plaer at 4/1…only has to beat three players Padraig ,Darren and Graeme. Not overly confident about that one though

King and hann are going to do one of those charity celeb boxing fights in the ricky gervais and that other bloke style. Aparently King was very upset that Hann squared up to his mate(don’t know his name at the moment) after a match. PICK ON SOME ONE YOUR OWN SIZE is the general motive for the fight.

I reackon king should win Hann acts lick a spoilt brat and needs a good kicking. Hope they show it on the box.

    Racing Daily,

It’s a pitty you didn’t realise it would be this predictable before the season started. Schuy was available at 2/1 before he raced in Oz. If you stuck a couple of quid on i wonder if it would be predictable or pure pleasure.

Any one who has money on the champ is enjoying this season no end. Pure pleasure perfection is a beautiful thing. A true sportsman giving a master class.
