    gamble, if you are really interested, there is a Ladbrokes just on Cambridge Heath Road (near to the health hazard that is the Salmon and Ball PH), then, both on the right hand side walking towards the city, a Tote (near the weird yoga place with the orange door) and a Corals (just past the building site and Natwest)…

    I am well aware NV of Cambridge Heath Road, there is a swimming pool where you can have a good slipper bath and they give you a small square of white carbolic soap you can secrete if you are well built- a towel too, but that’s harder.

    No thses shops are a small chain now defunt – they may well have been taken over by another private chain. I don’t think they are there any more. Haigh used one as his local and often wrote about them in his older articles. Even wrote about the other plebs in there and his conversations with them.

     Ian – I believe Salmon Rushdie may well use the darker forces, have you seen his current squeeze ?  By the way Ian your stay at the Post never broke into the double figures did it ? :cheesy:
