Phunter (Peter Hunter ) passed away last night. For those who did not know him he was a member of this site for a while. He had 2 boys who are suffer from a rare skin illness and he was one of the few I know who managed to live for a number of years from betting on horse racing. He leaves a wife and 3 children behind.
I received a telephone call this eveining from his wife informing me of this terrbile news. There is to be a post mortem and if I learn anymore I will pass the news on.
R.I.P. March 22, 2005 at 22:29 #94843What very sad news. He was always so good-natured. I’m prone to feel more sorry for the family in such circumstances.
Who knows if he and the Man Upstairs will be pulling each other’s leg now, and he’ll keep trying to persuade Himself to follow the racing more closely with him?
March 22, 2005 at 22:30 #94844Very sad news.
Sincere condolances to all his family at this sad time.
Keith

March 22, 2005 at 22:35 #94851That is simply terrible news –
Puts things into perspective.
Spoke to Pete many times in the chat room and we’d always planned to meet up at Kelso some time. Sadly now that will never happen.
Seagull, please pass on our condolonces to his wife and family.
Desperate news.
March 22, 2005 at 22:37 #94854Be at rest, Peter. Your memory won’t be forgotten on these pages.
Heartfelt condolences to all who knew and cared about him.

March 22, 2005 at 22:43 #94858The forum will be a poorer place without his knowledge, humour and general love of racing and betting as a whole. A terrible, terrible shock.
March 22, 2005 at 22:47 #94859His widow Janice aksed me to inform members of this site as she knew Pete used to come on here a lot.
I will of course pass the messages on.
I know one of Petes ante post bets was Fire Height Dan in the greyhound Derby @33/1 lets hope that wins for her.

He was such a character on this forum and will be missed. Enjoyed the banter with him over the footy.
My thoughts are with his family.
Seagull : I know it is a side matter but do the kids have eb?

March 22, 2005 at 23:12 #94864Thanks Seagull!
Just an idea but I want to do something.
I support and donate each year to DebRA the Charity that supports and raises money for sufferers of Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) and raises money for research into a cure for EB. My best friend’s kid has EB and it is horrible. visit http://www.debra.org.uk/ for information on the charity
In Phunter’s memory and to support his kids I am prepared to donate a ton to DebRA.
Does anyone else want to join me?
If so can we do this through the Forum somehow i.e. give the money to the Forum to be donated to DebRA Charity from the Forum in Phunters memory?
