    Another great write up VTC.

I’m hoping Ultragold comes here and not the national. I don’t think the horse is a definite stayer and obviously this race has been perfect the last two years. I’ll risk backing him now at the prices as if he is declared I imagine he’ll go off a lot shorter than the last two years.

I’m with you on Theatre Territory too, Ive backed the horse a couple times this year and been a bit disappointed with her runs but I do think this has been the plan and will be hoping she makes another appearance. Don’t think I’ll back her now but will see how the race is shaping up next week.

    Again super write up VTC.

    :good:

I backed Rathvinden and Ms Parfois back in November based on their battle in the 2018 NH Chase at Cheltenham. Can’t see Ms Parfois running now after a hard race in the Midland National last weekend but very happy with Rathvinden.

Not sure if he was kept back this season due to an injury or till the weights were framed but his comeback run was very pleasing and believe this was the target all season anyway.

However Tiger Roll is a little beast and would not have looked out of place in this years Gold Cup for me. His Cheltenham run was breath taking and I Know the runners in behind are not grade 1 performers but he looked so comfortable jumping and travelled like a dream. I wont be backing him due to the price but I do hope the horse wins despite my dislike for the owners!

I live in Liverpool and traditionally all of the family pick one or two horses for this race, this year my 6 & 8 year already have said they want The Tiger to win! I think it would be another great story in the long history of this race.

Think this has been the target for Coo star Sivola so I’ll be backing that and hope Lizzie waits a little longer before kicking for home this year! Big river at a big price too for a place.

Not mad on anything in the race this year. Backed Al Dancer before the betfair and I know winners of that don’t tend to win this but nothing else appealing to me much so I’ll stick with that.

Small play with one of the many offers you will get on the day on Thomas Darby for fun.

Hardline for me. As already pointed out loads of pace on and can see that putting pressure on the jumping on a few. Glen Forsa looks great but can just see ornua and knocknanus going wild up front and setting it up for a late closer.

May have a small play on Kalashnikov if it gets any bigger as record left handed is impressive.

    Good luck folks :good:

I’m with you on this one Kev. Would love to see him come back and win this, place would meltdown if he was powering up the hill at the end!

Be interesting to see who would ride him, Townend was on Penhill last year at both Cheltenham and Punchestown(Ruby Injured) and would still be surprised if Ruby wasn’t on Faugheen. Ruby riding a multiple festival winner round Cheltenham at a double figure price will do for me.

I’m actually getting excited at the prospect of Faugheen doing a Sprinter Sacre and winning one last time at the Festival!

Sorry Golden Miller, I usually agree with most things I see you put on here but to target Liverpool/Everton fans for the incident at Haydock is daft. With regards to the Millwall/Everton fighting any premier league team going to Millwall in a cup match will be attacked. I’m not going into too much detail about the football incidents but for you to blame no game for LFC/EFC this weekend for the incident at Haydock is a bit of a cheap shot.

I live in Liverpool, I regularly travel to local tracks during both NH/Flat season. Mainly to Chester, Aintree, Haydock and occasionally Bangor.

I often take my son who is now 8 and as a result a rarely drink alcohol on course. I do make myself aware of large groups of ‘Lads’ who are having a day out at the races and tend to distance us from them just in case there is any kick offs. These groups as we know usually involve a heavy drinking session and as the day goes they crack open the cocaine to keep them going. This is when a bump or a losing bet can then cause murder.

However I have only noticed a few similar incidents during my many visits to these racecourses. I was at Haydock on Saturday and witnessed the incident, it was actually local lads who were at it not Scousers or Mancs who were looking to an alternative to watching the football.

I honestly think its an issue in society in general, some people just love a good kick off when they have had a drink. I think we will see more and more of these incidents over the year as the temperature heats up(Not because the football is finished, more heat=more booze, more booze=more beak). People love the group/social event days out more than ever and as alcohol is so cheap they end up being hammered really early then get out the Colombian goods to keep themselves going. Once this happens they think they can take on the world in a royal rumble or believe they are Tony Montana. Racecourses seem to be encouraging Stag/Hen do’s and group days out at the races(Punters packages etc..) and this will be the target audience who attend.

What can racecourses actually do? Eject drunk groups(Cause further trouble at the time), Search them on the way in(Is it possible to search 10k plus people thoroughly on entering a racecourse?) Bring in a stronger police presence? Sniffer dogs?

I’ll continue to take my son to Horse Racing as well as taking him to football to watch Liverpool as we both love the whole experience. People are tw*ts and will ruin many things for many people unfortunately, However I wont let it stop me enjoying it.

Did you say ‘IF’ EE Wins the Gold Cup Potato? Bad form! I don’t think they would run him this year as he will probably have had one hard race too many after the Gold Cup.

2020 will be his year Potato. He reminds me on Don Slowly(Pre-Injury) just plugs on all day.

I’m interested in Tea for Two in this now he is being aimed at the Cross Country at Cheltenham. No Bet for me yet though yet.

I took 6/1 ew with 3 places last night for UDS so only has to beat one to at least get my money back. Still think Altior may struggle to pick up the front runners here so slightly hopeful UDS may win too.

Despite it only being 4 runners, nice to see top horses facing each other, it is a grade 1 after all!

Just hope they show it on the screens at Aintree as I’ll be there!

I’ve backed UDS for this now. Think with the forecast ground and stuff posted by the owners he’ll be heading here. If the ground gets very soft I think Altior may struggle to pick him up. Altior needs to be woken up a lot in his races and seems to get on top around 2 furlongs out. By that time UDS will have already kicked 6L clear and there will be no catching him!

That’s if he turns up mind!!! :yahoo:

Just to make people aware I live about 3 miles away from Aintree and it is lashing down! Has been all morning. Apparently it will be like this most of the week. I Imagine the ground will be testing.

I’m with Jack here. Think Might Bite will win. I am fond of Waiting Patiently but very difficult race to win 1st out and if Might Bite can jump better than he did at Haydock he will be the likely winner for me.

O’Connell group twitter account posting pictures of the weather forecast for Sandown and praising the rain! Would love Un De Sceax to come here if it is soft. I know he gets crabbed a bit by some but he’s a fantastic horse for me and would be a great test for Altior first time out.

I just hope Willie does send one over!!

Not a great price now but Theatre Territory for me. Jumped superbly at Cheltenham last time and nice low weight here. Trainer says National the target so will need to start winning to get in I’d imagine and best place to start would be here. Nice price to those on early! I’ll prob side with one more closer to the weekend but will more than likely be Ultragold or Vieux Lion Rouge. Good luck to those having a go in this.

Grand Visir entered to run on Saturday for Ian Williams. Says on Twitter could make his debut over hurdles. I’ll be there on sat with my little fella and be nice to see a Frankel run at Aintree!

I totally get your point Yeats but not like they need the money and had plenty of winners at the Festival. Just think the Champion Hurdle would suit AJ over samcro. Suppose we would see a better samcro in a bigger field with race run at a faster pace.

Guessing he’ll go up about 8/10lbs which would put him level with the runner up. Would they run both? I know they ran NR in both races as a younger horse but may be a lot to ask EE to go to what would prob be another very hard race in the Welsh National. Winner did look like he would stay further but guessing the price is gone now.
