On heavy ground I’d be inclined to side with The Dutchman again who won well last time.

With these trends in mind I will be backing:

    Blaklion
    Vyta De Roc
    The Dutchman
    Carole’s Destrier
    Tiger Roll

Blaklion and TD will likely be cut if running well on Saturday…

Jenkins should take all the beating here now after his win last week, the talking horse finally realising his potential!

Just read DR is likely to miss this in favour of Cheltenham-doh!

I snaffled the 12/1 about Definitely Red last week, so pleased to see him toward the head of the market. He is a quality, good jumping horse and top weight should hold no fears. I think he’ll go very close after winning a good quality race last time.

Yes I was being facetious sorry, he’s the only fox hunter I was ever interested in! Not a clue about the current crop, I’d probably be interested in whatever Derek O’Connor was riding…

A few snippets from Watson’s recent Atr stable tour…

    KIMBEAR
“A nice horse we have from the States and I like him, I really like him. We have a race in mind on the 18th January and he will be very fit going into that…I don’t see the point in sending him there anything less than 100% and I am hoping he is a horse that does well through the Carnival.”

    RAYYA
“She is certainly the pick of our 3-y-os and one that excites us, how could you not be given the ease in which she won on her debut. She has continued to train nicely since that win and her programme rather maps itself out, next up being the 1000 Guineas trial on January 18th.”

SJ was obviously not right, so how you can criticise that performance I don’t know…

This race revolves around Thistlecrack, and whether he’s fully fit. If so, he’ll take all the beating. I doubt Tizzard would take such a big risk in running him if that wasn’t the case so I’m willing to be a backer at 7/1, in the hope he has recovered sufficiently from the hurdles run last month. Might Bite is hugely talented but a bit of a nutter so can’t back at 11/8, he might fall or do something stupid. BDM needs heavy ground and although pretty wet today and tomorrow, it might dry out enough come Tuesday. Plus he’s never run at Kempton so a concern there. Whisper is a danger but I’d have preferred Russell on board and the others aren’t good enough. Thistlecrack for me for a storybook victory.

Venture by far the best for me, first class commitment in providing those amazing previews on the big race threads.
