On one hand, it’s a shame we aren’t going to see Canford vs Makfi III – The Ultimate Decider.
On the other hand, the 15/8 I got about Makfi from Hills the other day now looks like the value bet of the season!

It seems to me that the horses Makfi’s beaten are, in the main, better than the horses CC has beaten.
There may well be some excuses for his Ascot run so, on the day, I’ll be on Makfi.
That said, CC is a very, very good horse, and it seems as if this year’s three-year-old milers are better than their 10/12f counterparts (Cape Blanco, Bekhabad and, maybe, Workforce excepted).

Well done for the season Buick has had. Poor Jimmy must be scathing.
Personally, I’d love to see them give him a break a few months and then aim him for the Triumph Hurdle, then another break and something like the Ascot Gold Cup.

I have always decided that, were I ever fortunate enough to buy a horse, I would name it after a Manics song.
Found That Soul, Sleepflower, Starlover and Patrick Bateman are all good choices, I think.
So Dead, Of Walking Abortion, Ceremonial Rape Machine and Drug Drug Druggy, less so.
Personally, I think Dream Alliance’s owners – from Blackwood – missed out on something, there.

I was pleasantly surprised to see just how easy it was for Cape, the other horses seemed to run as if he wasn’t there.

Word is StarSpangled unlikely to run, so I’ve got on REGAL PARADE at 7/2 early, expect him to go off 2/1 fav.

Ride of the year so far was McCoy on Tempsford in the Midlands Grand National, absolutely superb.
