Yeah unfortunately I was watching Betfair more than I was watching the Fillies’ Mile. Done a fairly large double with her and Arsenal -1. She seemed very impressive and looks a very lazy type. Would love to watch the race again.

I enjoy watching proper horses too Phil, I was actually more impressed with White Moonstone than Frankel.

I like her too. Mentioned her in this thread. I just have so many doubts with Godolphin horses. I think Simon de Montfort could’ve been a Arc contender. Calvaryman went down hill. I’m just hoping Casamento doesn’t get bought by Godolphin cause he could be very good next year.
I hope we get a star cause after Sea the Stars expectations get raised and with Harbinger gone it’s nice to have hope lol
September 25, 2010 at 14:31 #319264I agree with you thehorsesmouth, both silly prices IMO.

September 25, 2010 at 14:33 #319265Bloody hell…unlike last year’s hype 2yo (SNA), this one looks like the real deal.

So don't run, just like the others always do

September 25, 2010 at 15:17 #319274Would be very interested to hear from Prufrock about the sectional times there. Seemed a slowly run first quarter, yet the time was very good if not exceptional.
Klammer isn’t Group 1 material, but to do that to a Group 2 animal is breathtaking.
5/2 may sound short,of course it’s probable he won’t win. But has he a greater or smaller than 28.6% Guineas chance? What percentage chance would you say Frankel has? What price would you lay?
I think 5/2 is very fair.
Remember taking the same price about Celtic Swing over winter for the Guineas. Got beat by Pennekamp, who I’d taken 16/1 ante-post about winning the classic……
The Classic being The Derby.

Was very impressive but would largely agree here in that he didnt beat anything, having said that he can only beat whats there.
Real test will come in his next race. Im hoping he takes on Native Khan to be honest, be great to see. Whatever the case he oozes class alright
September 25, 2010 at 16:27 #319292I would still question why he needs to race again this season. It seems to me that Cecil is pushing to make him a Champion 2YO – for me he is that already. There is a fear that the more you see him this year the less you will see next year and that is the season that really matters.

Well I’d say part of the reason they will look to run him again is because he has won his races so easily so far. If he had hard races I would be urging them to put him away for the year but he has done things so easliy so far that it surely makes sense to run again?
Its fantastic to see the crop of two year olds this year, Frankel,Pathfork,Samid,Native Khan. And theres plenty more than that!!!
September 25, 2010 at 16:47 #319302Having got 33/1 for him to win derby bit worried about Cecil saying he might not stay the trip. do you guys think he will i hope so.

Find it very very very hard to believe that a Royal Lodge winner by Galileo has stamina doubts???
I can understand where he is coming from when you look at the distances that Kind was running over and Henry knows more about horses than I could ever hope to but on this occasion I would ignore his comments, would be absolutely delighted with 33/1 if I were you!!!!!
The next race will tell you more. Are you on antepost for the guinneas too?
September 25, 2010 at 17:17 #319315Wonder if Henry’s reluctance of committing Frankel to Epsom, might be more due to the horse’s temperament. At the moment he takes a bit of a pull early at a mile as a 2 year old. Will probably learn to settle before next June.
Value Is EverythingSeptember 25, 2010 at 17:19 #319316No just derby because it is rare for a 2yo to win 2000 guineas after being in a 1m as a 2yo.STS done it but are very rare. horses i backed in guineas are.
Native Khan 25/1
Strong Suit 33/1
Pathfork.14/1.i missed big prices on him i did.September 25, 2010 at 17:22 #319319Entrepreneur did it too, though he was much more stoutely bred.
Will probably have to take some of the 25s on offer for Native Khan before he runs on Saturday, though just a small amount. May well do a Beresford-Guineas double for Casamento tomorrow too, will have to consider it a little more.
September 25, 2010 at 17:43 #319322Henry Cecil said that Frankel is the best 2 yr old he has trained since Wollow in 1975.
You could not help but be impressed. He looks a monster. But one word of caution:
Arazi !

As I suggested earlier after Doncaster the Guineas was the better ante-post option.
I think Arazi ran six or seven times as a 2YO, losing on debut before collecting the France’s four major juvenile races. He didn’t have the substance of Frankel. If I remember he had problems which kept him off the track for quite a period of his 3YO career.
September 25, 2010 at 18:17 #319328Very impressive. Think that he will be a 10f horse who gets 12f (re Cape Blanco but better). Would like to see him run the Guineas swerve the Derby and then clean up the 10f races and stiff 8f.
Would worry that the Derby could spoil him for the rest of the season. - AuthorPosts
