monkerhostin is my selection, he seems certain to stay, has abit of class, seemed to be back in form in the gold cup, jumps safely, but isnt impressive, which will help in the national.
I have no idea why richard didnt blaze the trail with fair along, as i have said before!
he jumps so well out in front and sulks when he isnt up front, as we have also seen before.
It was to his credit that he stayed on for 2nd, after never bing in the race, you could tell from the body language in the paddock that hobbs wasnt best pleased with the ride johnson gave.
I bet he goes off like the clappers at aintree. Richard wont want to make the same mistke twice!
So do you think his injury was a result of having a hard season then? i thought Paul would put him away after he ran at cheltenham.
is he just going to be a pet now, or is he going to learn a new trade?

beckster what on earth does firing have to do with whether he would be happy being back at the top?

clivex, im not sure if your pulling my leg! but firing is a method used to ‘mend’ the tendon involving hot metal irons held against the leg

Ive watched the race over and over, and some of detroits previous races, and i cant believe it was his true runing.
He may be lazy, but he has always travelled forward strongly through his races, in the CH he wasnt going a yard, and in my mind should have been pulled up coming down the hill. Did people not see his last jump? he was on his knees.
YES, he looked like he had no pace in the CH, but he didnt shape like a stayer either. imo
I think people want him to be a flop, rather than him being a flop, if that makes sence!!!
He was a total flop in the CH, dont get me wrong, but it was too bad to be true, and jockey also said he was exhausted going to the last and wasnt right, and the trainer said he clearly didnt run his race. Neither hinting he needed further.
I has also been well documented that he has a weak back, and that he goes swimming in the sea to strengthen his muscles, maybe he was feeling something because his jumping was very poor.
Maybe im trying to find excuses!!!! but i honestly think he did not run to form.

Jonjo seems to fancy the betfair bowl, and with kauto put to grass, its his for the taking.
i would be extremely suprised if he ran in the national. After all he is only a 7 year old

i would actually like to agree with you reet hard, but i just cant seem to understand why he has beaten so quickly. He isnt that slow surely?
Afsoun was miles behind him in all previous meetings

im not saying your wrong, or im right, only time will tell.
So what do you think will happen over 2 miles 4 at aintree?
what would you point to if he dissapoints badly again at aintree?
i was asking my self whether he could have ‘fallen’ out of love with the game being as he has been highly tried for a 5 year old, and technically, he is still 4!!

the thing im more worried about than him falling is that he may have reached his peak for the tingle creek and king george. to me, he didnt look the same horse in the aon, hopefully because nicholls didnt have him fully wound up, but at the back of my mind im worried that 5 wins, at the top level, for a previously lightly raced 7 year old, who isnt exactly built like a staying chaser, might just have taken its toll.
i will be taking him on

im a fan of RJ, but that was one of his worst rides ever. A horse that has won all its races from the front, and doesnt like being crowded held up in mid field? he should have blazed the trail, he stays further than 2 miles anyway and was only going to get shuffled back being intimidated in mid field
definatly not his true running. pushed along after the first flight. something definatly wrong. should have been pulled up. he had the pace to keep up with fair along and win on the flat, and outsprint hardy in teh bula.
something will come to light soon
