It will be good to see Coolmore and Goodolphin going head to head for the big prizes once again if these new sires do their stuff as expected.

Spot on as usual Lydia. I’m totally knackered from all this racing. Looking forward to at least a reduction in evening meetings from the end of August.

As indispensible as Raceform Interactive is to me at 50 quid a month, I still find it easier and quicker to go through cards for selection criteria on the RP site and its free! I wouldnt mind paying say 15 quid a month for it if it does become a pay site.

Given that the levy yield from bookmakers has declined over the last couple of years despite the increase in fixtures it seems very strange that their increasing the fixture list further. With the racehorse population levelling off during 2006 and the 48 hour dec non runner scenario it can only mean more racing with smaller fields and a subsequent decrease in betting turnover.

Have the big firms accepted that racing profits have peaked and their now using racing to lure punters into FOBT laden betting shops instead?

Whatever the case its a shame the BHA are selling racing very cheaply to bookmakers who have no interest in improving the quality of the sport.

‘pile it high, sell it cheap’

I wouldnt be without Raceform Interactive. Havent tried other databases because I’ve never needed to. Well worth the money if data extraction is your game. The customer support is second to none.

Didn’t mean to upset anyone with my July course comments. As I said I’ve never been there, its just the feeling I get from watching it on tv but I’ll bow to the superior knowledge of those people who have attended.

I really hope the racing will be better on Thursday though, it is one of the premier mid summer meetings after all and Wednesdays action imo didn’t even come close.

I have a feeling this is not going to be Authorized’s Eclipse. Totally different scenario to Epsom for him today. Notnowcato the value alternative.

Never had the pleasure of a visit to Southwell but I’ll certainly miss the fibresand racing there. Those midweek winter afternoons wont be the same without it. Hope to see it back as a fibresand venue but I suppose the insurance people will never have it. Best wishes to all the regulars and employees there.

The first thing Aidan did on TV after the race was sincerely thank his team at home, he’s a superb trainer, he’s anything but a showman!

If Fallon had switched or been switched to SOF the horses price would have been half of what it was. Ballydoyle new last week that the weather was going to be very wet at the The Curragh yesterday and in my opinion ”sacrificed” Fallon to keep the price sweet on The Soldier. Which their perfectly entitled to do.

Wouldn’t beat Authorised on ground any better than yesterdays though.

Spam in the thing that will ruin the best racing forum there is. Maybe you’ll have to go back to manual registration. I know its extra work but in my opinion it made the board what is was and hopefully always will be.

If I was an owner I’d much prefer to tell my friends I had a horse running in the Predominate, which most racing people will already know as a recognised Derby Trial from way back.  Now I’d have to tell them my horse is running in the Cocked Hat???!!!!
