He’s entered in the 5-00 at York tomorrow (17th)
Not a high profile horse by any means but I nominate Tim Pitts ex Aidan O Brien horse Augustus John. Second on his last 4 starts since January beaten a neck, three quarters of a length, half a length, and two and a half lengths respectively at odds of 6/4, 5/6 and 11/10 on three of those occasions.
Connections must be tearing their hair out. It will be interesting to see where’s he’s going to be placed next. A shrewd trainer and even shrewder connections, they’ll want their money back for sure. Worth keeping an eye on!

Get well soon legend
Desert Orchid in the ’89 Gold Cup. Off the bridle 4 out but battled all the way up the hill on ground he clearly hated. Marvellous stuff!
George Washington…enough said

Agree completely Clivex especially given the effect the wind has on times and running styles at Newmarket. Mordin should know that by now.
I have a lot of respect for Mordins OLDER writings
In this instant he’s completely wrong
In the 2000 CR had a 2mph TAILWIND
In the 1000 FB had a 12 mph TAILWIND
This is computed from official Met Office data that I have.
The wind was MUCH stronger on day 2
Given the increased tailwind and no watering on day 2 I’d be talking up CR’s performance not down
