When your talking about Ballydoyle dominance lets get our facts straight.Last year was a FREAK year for them,it was a world record for christ sake so lets not go saying it happens all the time.
Secondly,Ratpack, even when O’Brien was in Piltown training National Hunt horses he was doing exactly the same in Ireland as Pipe is doing in England. He didnt have the Johnsons like Pipe has yet he smashed EVERY single Irish record around in National Hunt Racing over here.
I dont believe it’s fair to blame O’Brien for leaving racing plans late…………….thats what has got him here today.Perhaps the reason he runs so many in the race is because he knows nothing will take him on.If other trainers at least attempted to show some sort of resistance against maybe it would change.Sure its the same in England over the jumps as well.Huge amounts of prize money in the races but 3-2 runners is that O’Brien’s fault too?
As for prize money I really do think that is a problem in England.Yes more money is going into the big races over here but also more valuable auction races are opening up here and there is plenty of money in the handicapps and listed races.
Sometimes people have to stop whining and take a stand themselves.

I’d be surprised if many people agreed that Kinane is not the equal of McCoy and certainly O’Brien is equal to Pipe?

Kathy your spouting this out like it is a written law!!
1) Not all farmers give permission to the hunt to cross their land. Large hunts can cuase huge amount of damage to a farmers land especially if he is sowing or relaying a field.
2) Many farmers feel presured into doing by people like the countryside alliance(alliance my arse!).
3) You talk again about what the foxes do to the animals…………….who’s bloody fault is that?If your a farmer you HAVE to provide safe dwelling for your animals. If you get do this get out of the job!
4) Farming is in my family and they DO NOT allow hunts across our land though that at times goes ignored by many of these "sportsmen".
To Adrian:"I hunt foxes for the love of the ride and to support the hunt which does a good job"……………….Can you not just ride out?And how many times do we here hunt supporters say most of the time the fox gets away?If that is the case how can the hunt be seen to do a "good job" as you put it.
"Only last week we despatched a fox which probably killed all the chickens and ducks at a nearby farm"
Probably is the word that stands out here……………….you know your self if a cat gets at hens or ducks it’ll do the same so slaughter all cats maybe too???
"With regard to mink they were let out by well meaning do gooders and now they are killing our indigenous river wildlife. I consider it a good ecologoical thing to get rid of them as they should not be there in the first place. What would be the alternative if hunting is banned here – to let mink kill all our voles, amphibians, fish etc? " I think this is the best bit………………..you talk about the natural state of the countryside and its ecology stating how minks should be killed as they were never meant to be there yet a fox who was probably there before man even settled in some of these areas is still slaughtered despite its natural place in the eco system of the countryside!!!It just cant win can it!!

Look Escorial if you honestly believe Hor La Loi ran the same race against Valiramix as he did against Landing Light………FINE!But dont try to convince me!
Your example of Hor La Loi’s best run is pretty weak!!!Good to soft ground at Cheltenham in description only………………..very misleading and the time of the race and indeed all the races that day point to the ground being much faster. Also he beat a blantent non stayer like Joe Mac who not for the first time detested the hill at Cheltenham but went on to show his true worth at Aintree. How you can rate his novice run above that of his Champion Hurdle second is beyond me!!?
And why is Rodock been left out of the picture? He won just as easily from the French Furze as Valiramix did.Yet he was rated below the horse???Makes no sense to me.He then goes on and gets slaughtered by Bilboa(who was reported to be far from fully fit) who was in turn cut down with a devastating amount of speed by Landing Light over a track that wouldnt suit.
I can understand why people like Landing Light…………..I do too.Valiramix needs soft ground and his jumping is anything but impressive and on his one run at the festival he flopped big time.He has alot to prove.
Escorial you must be the only one who could consider Hor La Loi to be consistant this season???!Comparing the two races with Baracouda and Valiramix is pointless.Baracouda is a three miler and that run was on good ground where opposed to g/s against Valiramix. If you honestly believe he ran the same race against both you need your head examined.I aint even going to comment on you thinking he again ran the same race against Landing Light its pointless.
Yeah Prince………I think Henderson just wanted all the info he could get first and then give a through explanation of what was wrong and what will happen.I intend to take a proce about him tomorrow to go along with my e/w Pearl and win on Sackville then I’ll leave it!

I read in the Times today that Henderson reported that Baccanhanl finished "very lame" and "very sore" at Newbury. But he should be ok for Cheltenham. This puts a different slant on his performance then……………..Marlbouragh might get fitter but after hearing that I doubt he’ll reverse form with Bac now.Why should he?

I was wondering about that all right!!! Jamie Spencer rode Ned Kelly at two work outs in Punchestown each time very impressive.
AS for Istabraq Rook as usual you make some good points. But there is a big difference with Baccahanal and Istabraq.Firstly Istabraq has been doing his job for a few years now while Baccahanal has been chasing for a relatively short time especially when you consider the interuptions with foot and mouth.Bac will gain much more from intensive schooling than Istabraq would as he has alot more to learn.
I dont believe there is a problem with Charile and Istabraq…………….I dont agree he’s lost his ability or nerve……………his ride on Bannow Bay to beat Limestone Lad was as good as ever.Simply brilliant.
You ask whether the horse has been held up in his work?Absolutely nothing O’Brien MacManus or Swan has said would lead anyone to think this. Its just the papers………………O’Brien told the Irish Times catagorically denying the horse had arthritis and went on to say if there was anything ever wrong with the horse he would tell us.That is good enough for me.Obviously not for others.

Wouldnt worry about Swan not riding the horse out in Ballydoyle(although he did before xmas). It is the usual for O’Brien I seem to remember Kinane saying he was never allowed on Galileo at Ballydoyle once the season got going.
First of all ridden up front over 3miles I wouldnt be afraid of LLT if I was Willie Mullins…………..3m2f up Cheltenham is different. But all the same he was only beaten 5 lenghts(although with 2f left FP had the race won) by LLT so 33/1 e/w still very happy with it.But LLT is a worthy favourite.
Point on Bacchanal……………I know Henderson says he wants soft ground but I personally believe he jumps much better out of good ground.Indeed his best run over hurdles was on good ground in the stayers………………..I wouldnt rule him out on good ground.

but sure like you said yourself…………….Dorans Pride aint that good over fences as hurdles.Indeed its doubtful if he stays………the Morris is over a shorter trip. How can you suddenly just disregard Inis Cara?
You never answered my question…………………you said LLT thrashed Florida Pearl that day and I agree. But did Florida Pearl run the sma e race as his Henessy wins or the Gold Cup places or King George?Simple really yes or no?

Escorial do you believe Florida Pearl ran to form in Down Royal when LLT beat him?If so how highly do you rate Inis Cara????!!???

I am well aware of that conall.Presumably they were walking him out then…………………..for these 11 days.Even counting that a horse wouldnt go straight to a gallop after that!!!
Final question to everyone then………………………..Is Aidan O’Brien purposely lying to everyone when he has repeatidly said the horse is very well? Yes or no……………..its that simple.

Promised I wont get into these "Istabraq" debates till after the race or at least closer to the race but I really had to!!! Eleven days in the box and then did a gallop????!!!!!! Surely even someone who has no knowledge of horses at all can use their common sense on that one??
Like Aidan O’Brien has been saying(pretty sure he’s getting fed up of it at this stage) the horse has been trotting and more recently canter for the last few weeks. He has come out and completely denied the arthritis story……………..he stated that if there was ever anything wrong with the horse he would tell as Ballydoyle did so brilliantly with the nose bleed the night before the champion.
Surprised some are saying that if he gets there on the day he will be easy to back?I suspect the exact opposite…………….if he gets there on the day it’ll be a major tip in itself surely? They aint going to send him to Cheltenham to be humiliated but I assure you he will be there on the day. Also I expect him to have a racecourse gallop before hand…..maybe at Leopardstown in a few weeks. I note most comment on William Hill shorting the horse to 7/4 from 9/4,I however find it much more interesting the 6/4 from 2’s by Paddy Power.

Thats a fair enough response I guess. Would like to see Dubai Destination again before passing judgement on him.

Ladbrokes cut Hawk Wing from 16’s into 10’s for the Derby.
