That’s great, love watching it
Jessica Harrington said on Twitter that Saludos suffered a heart attack during the race and that he was much loved.
(((Oh, I hope not, one of my favourites, I really hope it’s not as bad as you think it is, but not optimistic

So sad to hear that, he was an old favourite of mine.
I will miss thomo- he is enthusiastic and knowledgeable and it is clear he loves racing and broadcasting; such a shame someone like boring Rishi Passad is preferred to Thomo
That’s a lovely tribute. I ride horses, and they’re not thoroughbreds (far from it) but I know how easy it is to go from calm and peaceful to hysterical spooking. Very sad and I feel sorry for connections in this case.
Don’t know about Frankel but Queally would be trying to leave his challenge as late as possible I reckon.
Lol cormack, that’s the first time I’ve laughed today. Good one.
The imagery is spot on.My sentiments exactly Ivanjica.
I feel so much empathy for Mr Nelson, his family and According to Pete’s lass and trainer. It is dreadful for them. He was sailing around too. Such a striking looking horse and to know he was loved so much is heartbreaking.
Only if meat eating goes with it.
How many expressing outrage at racing deaths will tuck into their joint of moo-cow or baa-lamb for their Sunday lunch?
Rob
Totally agree
Gone down in my estimation in recent years but that comment about Henderson was cheap
I hope Nicky smashes his big fat head out of the yard next season
So do I, and with the horses that NH has (Sprinter Sacre, Bobs Worth, Simonsig and a good few others) and all going well with no tragedies he most likely will. I’ll be delighted.
Love Neptune Collonges though, carrying around a stone more than Sunnyhillboy and finishing sronger, he’s always been a great horse for me and lovely to see him winning a huge race. Glad to see that Mr Hales is retiring him though. Joy short lived when the bad news came in though.
Same here Rob. Was so pleased that NC had won and then heard the news – just gutted

Was so pleased that Neptune Collonges had won – to know that According to Pete was pts after being brought down is just terrible news (Synchronised as well who should never have run only 4 weeks after the GC) after BBC doing that piece on his owner and breeder. The lady was in tears even before the race in the saddling enclosure. It certainly puts a horrible downer on everything and my heart goes out to the brave little horse’sconnections.

Burton Port is tough as old boots, but will always find one too good.If that’s the case, how do you account for his 7 wins out of 17 starts?
Hated seeing his name here, good owl Trafford Lad.
I think the C4 programmes this year were boring and I can’t believe I’m writing this as I have been looking forward to it for months. Mistakes are annoying, especially the Lesley Graham gaff re Bobs Worth’s owners and the fact that McCrirrick insists on calling Burton Port Burton Point (I think even Alice Plunkett did this a couple of times).
Someone wrote that what’s his name seemed tentative when asking Ted Walsh for contributions – don’t know why as TW is as pleasant as can be and would talk to and give his opinion to anyone at the racecourse.
Never doubted for a moment that Bobs Worth would show them all the way up the hill. I love that little horse.
