Hills are the only other I know who dont void and pay on getting round furthest.
Good luck to them, Linda Perratt would’ve been the last person I’d’ve picked to take over the reins. Still, Cree Lodge is going to be vacant for someone, great.
Apparantly, this is the last BC meeting to be run on dirt. All future meetings will be run on polytrack, including next year at Santa Anita.
BC CEO Greg Avioli denied this is april when Oak Tree @ SA for 2008 was announced.
Without the elite stock, he’s a ordinary 12% trainer in handicaps. It’s not O’Briens doing but Ballydoyle is just a factory designed to swiftly sift out the elite and discard the rest.
If you look at his 5 year record on the RP website, there are a ton of horses circa 35% of all his runners had no wins and just one to three lifetime runs. Random clicking shows the vast majority of these did not make it into any other training hands. Wonder where they all got to.
Probably shouldn’t get involved in this one, but just a quick observation.
Performance ratings in some races are all but meaningless without context. I’m thinking small-field conditions races, most claimers – any type of contest that regularly produces a result that makes little sense in terms of the ratings.
I wouldn’t want some of the performance comments I make for the benefit of my colleagues to be put into the public arena.
You absolutely should be involved if you want to. It’s a fairly straightforward query that you’d know the answer to. I understand what you are saying about certain races but that is beside the point of my query really. Reading between the lines it sounds like you do make individual ratings for all runs by all horses. Given that this is publically funded why ought they not be made available for public use.

This is time dilation bit in Einsteins special theory of relativity. We all know time goes slower in Ireland so a length there is appropriately a tardy 0.2s whereas in the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong the HKJC determine a length to be a slicker 0.15s. So we have Shroedingers wave/particle duality, Einsteins mass/energy equivalence and horseracing’s length/time mince.

Godolphin team just beaten by the odd 145 lengths then. Pass the cough linctus Mabel.
Didn’t see anything better in ’06 than Discreet Cat in the Cigar Mile 132+; Dutrow brought Silver Train in on his ‘A’ game forcing DC to be hand ridden to tie Easy Goer’s 17-y-o track record.
A bit of opportunism but I would ban the AW track at Musselburgh. The R&A seem not to give a monkeys about this proposed sacrilege which is shameful. The council don’t give a monkeys coz all they’re interested in is a new revenue. stream The existing track was built (mostly) around the golf course when heritage meant nothing which is understandable, but to butcher it once again for the sake of poor horses running on tyres under floodlights is crazy. I don’t even like golf but to start digging up greens at a place that is 400 years old, the oldest course in the world and where the first 4 open championships were played just seems entirely crass and vulgar beyond belief.
Looks like the american sprinter has tested positive also.
Any explanations proferred post race on the dismal run of Hatsukrai? Did conditioner report prior to race he has had soft palate problems? Did he run in a tongue tie? Tx.
crikey wit, I think that paragraph from Yomiuri actually throws up more questions than it does answers.
Article 79 para 2. effectively widens the scope of the prohibited list to infinity…
"2. A substance, even if it was other than the prohibited drugs, or, medication, must not be administered to any horse nominated to start for the purpose of temporarily stimulating, or, depressing race performance. "
For me, that’s why what the press reported was key.
Does the JRA or LRC concur with the press reporting that ipratropium is not banned domestically?
