Good stuff though and live on attheraces
December 3, 2006 at 17:36 #32728Scorpion at 7-1 might be of interest ;)
Don’t know barrier draw, but the 13-8 TT could be generous too
December 4, 2006 at 22:51 #32729So might Maraahel, imho. I can’t forget his 3rd beaten a neck and a head behind Electrocutionist and Zenno Roby Roy in the 2004 Juddmonte International; as Mordin pointed out, respectively, the champion of Europe and Japan, at the time. If he stays, he must have the speed to nearly win the Vase. I took the best price of 9s a bit earlier, but presumably, because of that, it’ll go out!"
And a length behind Vengeance of Rain and Pride (a head between them) in the Hong Kong Cup, which I think is over a mile, anyway. He had to go round the field.
They’re the first two in the betting for its renewal, too.
December 6, 2006 at 12:11 #32730I don’t believe in fairytale endings so can’t have OB. but will be watching any Japanese horses (with the right breeding) in the other races.
December 6, 2006 at 12:33 #32731Well I’m a romantic at heart and I see in my crystal ball that the finest mare this country has produced since Sceptre is going to win three lengths on the bridle thus bringing the curtains down on a glittering career with scarcely a dry eye in the house.
December 7, 2006 at 09:35 #32732Draws are now out (go "Racing Information", pick race):
For the Japanese horses, Meisho Bowler seems quite fancied in the Sprint and Dia De La Novia in the Cup:

December 7, 2006 at 11:40 #32734From HK website
TAKEOVER TARGET – The Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Sprint – Sunday 10 December 2006
7 December 2006
It is a practice of The Hong Kong Jockey Club to obtain samples from overseas horses which are to participate in any of the Club’s international races after the horse arrives in Hong Kong. From time to time these post-arrival samples show irregularities and when this occurs further samples are taken for analysis from the relevant horse leading up to the race.
Samples taken from TAKEOVER TARGET, subsequent to its arrival in Hong Kong, have shown an irregularity.
Leading up to The Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Sprint to be run at Sha Tin on Sunday 10 December 2006, further samples will be taken from TAKEOVER TARGET for analysis by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Racing Laboratory
December 8, 2006 at 10:05 #32735The Japanese are very pleased with Dance In The Mood, and unless Bullish Luck comes back to his best she’s got the form to win the Mile. 11/2 generally – but no Betfair sadly.

Looks like the american sprinter has tested positive also.
December 8, 2006 at 11:54 #32738
Takeover Target has failed a second test according to the Sporting Life website. Trainer is quoted as saying he gave the treatment seven weeks ago, but ‘it seems he has a clot and can’t get rid of it’.
I’m sure he’s referring to the drug, not himself!

December 9, 2006 at 05:05 #32739Ouija "slightly sore" this morning. Another vet’s inspection tomorrow morning. No better than 50-50 chance of her running I think.
Takeover Target 95% certain not to.:(
December 9, 2006 at 08:30 #32740According to The Morning Line Ouija Board is lame and a non runner thus we have seen the last of her on a course
