Jalil was pictured right next to him.
Time will tell, but thus far it looks like H&H have it right…
September 16, 2007 at 13:15 #115239The Green Monkey, the most expensive horse ever bought at public auction, made an inauspicious racetrack debut when he ran third in a six-horse 1200m maiden at Belmont.
A $US16 million purchase in February last year, The Green Monkey’s racing career was delayed due to a series of ailments.
Trainer Todd Pletcher said he was obviously hoping the colt would win but did not think he had run badly.
"I was hoping he would run a little better," Pletcher said.
"If you’d asked me beforehand if they run 1:09 flat can he win? I’d say he’s probably not ready for that.
"For a first-time starter to run faster than 1:09.10 would be hard to do.
"Obviously he generated a lot of interest, so that part of it was good."What do they expect with a name like that?
