    Lord some people are sensitive.
Great idea Corm. There would be plenty of interest I reckon.

I haven’t read his article but I think I can pick up the points he was making from this thread. I would agree with those who point out that at least he is speaking his mind. I just feel it’s a very short sighted view. It does seem strange that a person who depends on racing for a living, a sport that, like any other sport, needs it’s admission fees to survive, is discouraging people to attend meetings. Be it intentional or not on Segal’s part, comments of that nature wouldn’t encourage any one to go racing. It’s an opinion he should maybe have kept to himself, or at least not expressed in that article.

I don’t know how to put up the link but enter ‘Dancing Maradona’ in the search on youtube and prepare to be amazed.
A genius with a ball at his feet.
    Also ‘Maradona in Napoli’.
    Spine tingling.

sberry…..looks like I’m your idea of a mug.
    A) I buy the RP, almost, every day. There are alot of articles in the RP that you won’t find on their website. I enjoy reading it, maybe I’m just an easily pleased mug.. :D .
    B) I’m a regular at The Curragh, Naas and Punchestown. I also try to get to Leopardstown as often as possible.
So onto your point about admission prices. There as many people complaining about prize money as admission. How can racecourses put up the prize money with out the admission? Although paying for parking is bit much, it’s free in Ireland.
The way I look at it, not only is it a nice day out but also I’m supporting the sport I love.
If that makes me a mug, then I’m a mug.

I’m starting to get worried about myself. Suprising as it may seem I HAVE read the rules of the goodwood tippin comp, more than once.
Yesterday I forgot to put up my selections before the first race and today I only selected one horse. The minimum being two.
It dawned on me about 3o’clock that I should have selected at least two horses.
I’ve been as dizzy as a blonde on a roundabout the last week…….early onset of senality….hope not

No prob with 4/1 or 6/1 shots Max  . There have been a few tips on this thread at prices like 5/4 7/4 etc. Sort of defeats the purpose of this thread imo. I’m not against backing a winner at any price mind you but these sort of selections look a bit out of place.
Not that it upsets me or anything, not a crisis like say being under 20ft of water. :D

When I was reading the article on this race in today’s RP I got that lovely tingle feeling down my spine. Have to say I can’t wait to see Finsceal Beo stepping up to this trip. Alot of people will be of the opinion that she wont stay it well enough at (a solid) G1 level to put it up to the likes of Mandesha et al, my own opinion is influenced by sentiment too much but I certainly hope she can, at least, be placed.
What a race it could prove to be, possibly even rivaling the Ouija Board-Alexander Goldrun duel, I for one can’t wait. :D

Himself,I agree totally with your last post. I don’t see the problem with big yards, who have the ammunition, tryin to cover the different angles in a race. I certainly wouldn’t consider it cheating or skullduggery.
