Think FD is one of the worst prices of the week. Beat very little in his career to date, lost in his only appearance at HQ, and against 2 horses I don’t think an awful lot of.
Don’t get me wrong, he’s a bloody lovely jumper of a fence and the most likely winner but priced like he’s done it all before rather than simply the potential he has.
Vanillier 25/1
With STown seemingly unlikely to run, and given this year’s 3rd could be significantly upgraded I think the odds on offer about Vanillier are quite attractive.
The real heroes of the sport. Brave brave mad men and women. Rest for a while Mikey, for you have the rest of time to ride Marine Nationale, Jazzy Matty, Dessie, Arkle, Red Rum, Shadowfax et al. I shall try to remember you as often as I can.
“The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places; but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater.”
High
Ballyburn / Sine Nomine – both representing the diversity of Cheltenham exactly as I believe it should do.
Low
Being charged a ridiculous amount to queue up for a ridiculously long time to park in a quagmire.
40/1 with Unibet is Corbetts Cross
French Paradoxe
Kitty’s Light
Gents, without wishing to wade in on others’ arguments, I know for a fact 25s was available post race for a while.
I know, because I took it myself. At 15.55 to be exact. It was with Quinn bet.
Now I’ve no idea whether Mike is telling porkies, whether Mike regularly tells porkies, or whether he used the same bookmaker… but some firms are slow sometimes to change odds, and some don’t suspend races especially if a race isn’t an obvious trial for another.
Yogi, you don’t think connections will be tempted by the BANC?
Pats Fancy
You’d have to think L’homme Presse stands a very good chance of going close in this
Top Ville Ben
There is no greater joy in this world than locking yourself in your own water closest, making yourself comfortable for the ridding of bowel movements all the while whilst reading the Racing Post from cover to cover.
This has to be done with a physical newspaper. The enjoyment factor is just not the same with an electronic device.
Super stuff VtC, thanks for running this. My thinking cap is on! Best of luck everyone
Will a 13 year old Regal Encore be running again?!
First of all so glad to see you VtC starting threads on the likes of the Hennessy and the Kerry National…jumps must almost be back upon us!

Secondly, with the AP slips at the ready, I very much do not want to see a fully wound up Galvin at Listowel!
Any Second Now definitely the one to take out of the race. Lost a good 15 lengths I think after getting caught up in avoiding Double Shuffle. Impressed me to work back to finish 3rd like that.
However, that said, am not sure he’s one for the same race next year. The handicapper will have seen what we’ve all seen any race returnees don’t do well do they.
Will be interested to see future entries next season.
While I’m here I’m also another that likes the look of Galvin, Escaria Ten, and RWF for this next year.
No idea why, but I’m less keen on Next Destination. Maybe it’s the English trainer thing or maybe I think he’s a little Discoramaesque…
