Two proper favourites in here, in Frodon and Remastered.
Not the first time that Frodon’s been given an entry here, but even off top weight, he’ll still be of serious interest, if still in on Monday. Remastered was inexplicably bad last time, but I’d give him big chance, for all I’d much rather see him in The Ultima. Very surprising entry for Aintree, and I still think he’s worth following in coming months.
Not 100% certain we’ll see them here though, so I’ll have another look Monday.
Our Power, Iwilldoit, and Coopers Cross have all won big chases this season, and off respective marks, I think they’re all worth a second look here, and all good value for their rises.
One with a different profile to those is Good Boy Bobby. Been about a while now, and only shows up occasionally. Very poor last time, but as he’s an inconsistent sort anyway, so I’m not unduly concerned. Won The Rowland Meyrick off 6lbs higher last year, and looked dangerous until heading for home in this last year. He’ll return here ten pounds lower, and I can’t resist an early bet at a big looking 33’s

Had to add Frodon here 14’s. Haven’t ruled out Remastered either, but at single figures, a bit harder to justify.

February 20, 2023 at 16:56 #1636329Worth noting with Frodon already jocked that he’ll be forcing a third of the field out of the weights so even with good prize money it could cut up a bit. I’d expect Kittys Light to take up the Eider instead where he’d be in the weights. Cap Du Nord probably depends on his wellbeing and if the handicapper raises him above 135 tomorrow as in theory he’d still be well in off that mark which is what 10.02 will be (bottom weight).
February 21, 2023 at 13:59 #1636433Cap Du Nord’s been raised to 132 by BHA which is effectively what he’d run off with his penalty if Frodon didn’t run on Saturday, as mentioned Frodon would make everybody below Flegmatik effectively run off 135.
February 21, 2023 at 14:29 #1636436I’m hoping Kitty’s Light takes up the Eider over this.
I’m all over Clondaw Castle for this. Was waiting for him to show up this season and he ran a screamer after a long enough absence at Kempton. I’m gutted he didn’t get a National entry. He’ll be running off the same mark that saw him win this two years ago, conditions will suit; plenty to like with so many others likely to be running from out of the handicap!
February 21, 2023 at 16:34 #1636448Kitty’s Light looked like an extra mile was desperately needed over CD here recently.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"February 22, 2023 at 14:17 #1636535I’m not going to have an ap bet here as I have two on my mind. I’ll bet both of Saint Calvados and Killer Clown if they’re declared
February 22, 2023 at 21:18 #1636605My win bet here will definitely be Our Power if he is declared, but I have had an ante-post on Bobhopeornohope at 20-1 ew
February 23, 2023 at 11:56 #1636651Our Power for me too Lemons, and I’ve taken 8-1
February 23, 2023 at 14:26 #1636673Didn’t Our Power have a setback which is why he’s not run in 119 days? Would like to see a trainer quote to get a clue if he’s fit enough.
February 24, 2023 at 18:43 #1636875I’ve not heard of a setback but would have considered Saturday and the Spring festivals the best chance of success for Our Power off his current mark and considering his form last season
February 24, 2023 at 19:17 #1636878Cap Du Nord ew 4 places
February 24, 2023 at 22:10 #1636900I have 4 here permed in EW doubles to 5 places with three in The Eider.
Bobhopeornohope
Our Power

JoeFebruary 25, 2023 at 05:12 #1636928I’m surprised Frodon is here so close the festival , I’m hoping he’ll do a Golden Freeze on GDC ….
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
February 25, 2023 at 08:43 #1636932Regards Our Power and that layoff, haven’t seen any quotes but the trainers only had 3 runners in the whole of February and none since 2 weeks ago. Smallish yard I know but 3 seemed very low to me and made me think without seeing any quotes either he does his jabs then or there’s been a bug?
February 25, 2023 at 12:18 #1636967Having a proper jockey on board makes Saint Calvados a play , he’ll get a lovely setup by Frodon and the handicapper has ref given him a chance , also played Flegmatic , loves the c and d and again the handicapper has relented , headgear on and I’m expecting a big run
Saint Calvados e.w
Flegmatic e.w
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
February 25, 2023 at 12:48 #1636978Killer Clown for me. His form doesn’t seem that great, but he runs well at Kempton. 3 miles is a first, but I don’t think that should be a problem. Also added Cap du Nord, because you just have the feeling Christian Williams is on fire.
