That novice chase won by No Pain No Gain is quite something – 18 runners, and it wasn’t even a handicap! Different times…
And “canned” horses hooves sounds

Anthony Honeyball noted in his blog that Ucanaver was also lost after running into herself on the same card.
Pity they managed to show the injured horse reeling around in a replay (where there’s really no excuse) today.
£40 with 365.
Probably close every account that backs it if it wins.
We’ll all fill our boots, Billies are going EVENS, oh wait you can have a tenner………

December 26, 2022 at 22:36 in reply to: 4/1 for The Derby, over 8/1 for a novice hurdle – you couldn’t make it up #1628371The Harrington horse is well related through the dam (Jett, Jezki, Jetman etc) so clearly ain’t no slouch. A modest maiden is a bit of an understatement. https://www.racingpost.com/profile/horse/525178/la-noire
There was a triple split screen at one stage (Market Rasen 3 and a half miler etc) and they kept it on even when one of the races was long over showing the winner passing the post about 3 times but never with the places going past the line, a great help………….
No room for the Gold Cup and Grand National winner 2023 Noble Yeats ?
Re Regal Encore, from Tuesday’s Racing Pisspoor-
Stable stalwart Regal Encore turns 15 in January and was pulled up at Ascot on Friday but Honeyball and jockey Richie McLernon feel the veteran could bounce back to form on softer ground. A crack at winning a third Silver Cup at the Berkshire track on December 17 is next.
Honeyball said: “His rating is coming down, which shows he’s not as good as ever, but he seems as good as ever at home and he was bouncing after the race and squealing in his stable on Friday night.
“Richie knows him really well and feels there’s plenty of life in him and he may just slip into the Silver Cup at Ascot in December off a light weight. It might be one last hurrah there maybe but he loves his training and is very sound.
“If he was to miss a beat or something wasn’t quite right, we wouldn’t be persevering but he just seems to enjoy it and running him on softer ground will be the best time to judge him.”
That Nicholls jolly today forgot the job completely and forgot to jump as soon as it came under pressure- the Honeyball mare was being boxed on the ears a long way out. Hard to know what gained from that race.
Like that horse of McCains that totally forgot its schooling yesterday and made everyone look silly at odds-on “Hawke’s thing” did the same as did Highland Frolic. We all see the training videos, full speed and not touching a hair of the schooling hurdle and we could despair…
But there is no need for such anguish. Unless there is naiveity that leads to the pocket being touched….
Long game.
“Someone lock the door and swallow the key so BH can’t go awol again.
Superb.”
Seconded !!!
It is quite a shame we don’t have the benefit of our “oracle” regarding the 2.00 at Ffos Las today. All first time out, very interesting.
Rossa Ryan’s horse did lug in to the left a little in snatches but that was a crazy reaction. The whole race from the start from head on would be interesting to see, did something happen in the few seconds of “sideways on” on here ??? https://attheraces.com/atrplayer-popout/VOD/1309163?showResult=yes
An entire won tonight at Newcastle. I wonder will this Brazilian bred
jump a hurdle in the winter…https://www.racingpost.com/results/1079/kempton-aw/2022-09-28/820718
