Tuesday off to stud. What the hell for I’ve no idea. Surely as a late maturing filly she was facing a cracking 4yo campaign. Its not as if coolmore hasnt got enough fillies. Very strange move.
November 24, 2022 at 23:16 #1624408Re Regal Encore, from Tuesday’s Racing Pisspoor-
Stable stalwart Regal Encore turns 15 in January and was pulled up at Ascot on Friday but Honeyball and jockey Richie McLernon feel the veteran could bounce back to form on softer ground. A crack at winning a third Silver Cup at the Berkshire track on December 17 is next.
Honeyball said: “His rating is coming down, which shows he’s not as good as ever, but he seems as good as ever at home and he was bouncing after the race and squealing in his stable on Friday night.
“Richie knows him really well and feels there’s plenty of life in him and he may just slip into the Silver Cup at Ascot in December off a light weight. It might be one last hurrah there maybe but he loves his training and is very sound.
“If he was to miss a beat or something wasn’t quite right, we wouldn’t be persevering but he just seems to enjoy it and running him on softer ground will be the best time to judge him.”

November 29, 2022 at 05:58 #1625071Sorry to hear that Chris Wall has had to call it a day due to lack of horses. He never trained many but he always seemed to find a good one. Best of luck to him.
November 29, 2022 at 19:02 #1625124Happy retirement to Golden Pal!
December 3, 2022 at 17:02 #1625599Desert Encounter & Ripp Orf both listed on the BHA site as subject to a non-racing agreement.
December 10, 2022 at 16:23 #1626457Tamaroc Du Mathan and Louis’ Vac Pouch, who must surely be one of the more bizarrely named horses of recent times, are both recent additions to the BHA non-racing agreements list.
I also haven’t seen mention here of Potters Corner who was retired in November. Despite winning the Welsh and Midlands Nationals, he will probably be remembered primarily for “winning” the Virtual Grand National of 2020 when the real one couldn’t take place due to the pandemic.
Wishing them all long and happy retirements.

December 16, 2022 at 11:04 #1627006Not sure if this is retirements only and I’m on the wrong thread, but Knights Salute is out for the season
December 16, 2022 at 19:27 #1627050Reckon we’ll let you off Steeplechasing. Sadly I doubt we’ll see him racing again. Hope to be proved wrong.
Meanwhile one who definitely won’t be seeing is Who Dares Wins. Last ran in June and has now gone to a great retirement home. 60 races, including many fine performances (often in defeat) on the flat and over hurdles and thoroughly deserves a long and happy retirement.
