A nice tribute to Sam Brown on Anthony Honeyball’s website. What a wonderful racehorse he has been; he is exactly the type of horse that made me fall in love with Jumps racing.

Disappointing that the Racing Post has still not reported on his retirement at the time of writing.

Noble Yeats officially retired
(taken from racing post article today)

Noble Yeats is now enjoying retirement with fellow illustrious performers Long Run and Oscar Time, the latter a winner of the 2014 Becher Chase and second in the 2011 Grand National to Ballabriggs.

Waley-Cohen says: “Noble Yeats is doing very well and is out in the field with Long Run and Oscar Time, doing what horses deserve to do when they retire.”

Thanks for highlighting this vf. I recall it was mentioned that retirement was probably on the cards for Noble Yeats after what proved to be his final race, but did not see anything further in the media after that.

The fact that a star horse who won a Grand National slipped away into retirement without considerably more fanfare or notice seems a shame to me.
