Then what will you lot complain about?

I moan because I want the coverage to be so much better and how it used to be in the best days of Alastair Down, John Francome and Big Mac. Hearing Alastair enthuse about jumps racing especially at Cheltenham made me feel part of the sport. I was entertained but with the new team I am bored

Not sure you have ever been happy with the coverage Phil…

As I never bother to watch the tiresome Morning Line anymore I’m wondering if Channel 4 have finally decided to retire John McCririck? I’m not a huge fan of the man but he certainly makes Channel 4’s broadcasts much more entertaining but I forget now the last time I saw him.

I’m wondering is this part of Channel 4 Racing’s ridiculous decision of not mentioning the betting so much it case it makes everyone march off to Gamblers Anonymous? Without gambling there is no horse racing and everyone places a wager to win money, unfortunately C4 can’t see this.

I agreed with all the sentiments of the second letter in the Post today, its embarassing and annoying watching C4 anymore and now the flat season is here I don’t think I’ll bother much from now on.

I will try again – probably wasting my time as it doesn’t fit the argument for the "racing fan". I’m looking forward to the day C4 give up on racing & you are left with very little terristial coverage. Then what will you lot complain about?

I think it’s worth pointing out that although the number of people actually watching C4 Racing has fallen, their percentage share of the viewing audience has pretty much stayed the same if not gone slightly up.

What this means is the number of people in the UK watching television at the time of C4 racing as gone down across the board. All TV channels are experiencing a loss.

Unfortunately we have a trade paper in the Racing Post that has an agenda and they will only report the side of the story that suits them. Bruce Millington wants & needs C4 to fail so he and the RP can get stuck into RMG for their decision to take racing to one channel. Remember Millington doesn’t like RMG because they stopped the RP getting data for free and started charging them.

If C4 does fail, the only racing that will be on terrestrial TV will be Chelt Fest, GN, Derby & Royal Ascot. I don’t think we want that.

So stop believing sensationalist headlines from a trade paper that actually believes it in racing’s best interests for C4 to fail!

As a 46yo employee I don’t feel I have had a set-back from McCririck losing his case and I certainly wasn’t rooting for him to win (would he have shared his £3m with me and other 30-70yos?)

Having had a brief read through the judgement, I thought that a couple of people didn’t come out too well.

Jamie Aitchenson was described as "weak and found it difficult to take and standby decisions"

and Highflyer (and in turn Andrew Franklin) on Lesley Graham "her days were given to her as a favour by the producer"

and "…the approach to refreshing the Presenter set up had been un-ambitious (and that old loyalties may affect decisions…"

I don’t think I’m coming up with anything new but it seems that C4 / IMG handled the whole thing badly (wonder if JM will now try for wrongful dismissal?) and that Highflyer just wanted to keep the status quo and not change anything.

At some point in the future (15? 20 years?) Jump racing will be banned.

Every time a horse dies in the Grand National takes us a step closer to the end of Jump racing.

    I can’t say I would miss it.

But I do agree with the OP that the BHA, Aintree & PJA are inept. They are basically trying to please the RSPCA and deflecting blame from themselves to the jockeys (as pointed out by yeats).

Have Steir & Baker ever sat on the back of a horse? It’s bloody hard to keep one on a tight rein when there are 40 of them running towards the first.

It won’t happen but if the BHA want Jump racing to stay, then they need to tell the RSPCA where to stick their ideas.

Horse Racing fans on a forum not liking something shocker!

I’m looking forward to the day that racing is no longer on mainstream TV and jump racing is banned.

Reading Racing forums really will be fun then :)

Why do you feel this will be betterthan ATR?

Better quality and faster pictures, better presenters, no adverts & no Matt Chapman

So I was wondering who Pinza was and it turns out he is nothing more than a drama queen!

Makes a blog as soon as he is barred from a forum. The man craves attention. Pity he didn’t get more from his professional life.

Nice to have been mentioned in his blog though ;)

A particularly nasty quote and cowardly as well. The man can’t defend himself.

I will miss reading Pinza. I can’t say I agreed with him all the time but his contributions to the whip debate made it a must read over the last few months. Hugely surprised and disappointed that he has been banned.

I think the site will be the poorer without him.

The man can’t defend himself? He’s got his own blog!

If anyone misses someone posting on a forum, they really need to go out more.

    Lol Ricky,

for a guy who is so good with words and wants to come across as intelligent, he couldn’t spot someone brandishing a huge wooden stirring spoon on a forum.

It’s amazing how many of these internet warriors get really upset when their toys are taken away from them and they can no longer post on a forum!

I’m sure Christopher Webber will have plenty more to say about being banned from here but, at the end of the day, no one really cares.

    this is so funny.

The pillock that is Pinza said to me on the "whipping it up" thread

"I’m afraid to tell you that I’m here to stay and fight for what I believe is right, as opposed to giving way to populist nonsense."

When I asked him where he was taking this fight (other than an internet forum) & who exactly he was he declined to answer.

It turns out he was nothing more than an internet warrior whose opinion was worth the same as everyone else is forum world ie NOTHING!

Does anyone know who this pathetic loser is?

Right, I’m off now. I’ve had my fun. Going to put my big stirring spoon back in it’s draw & going out into the real world :D

And where are you having this "fight"? On a racing forum? Or would you care to let us know who you are and to who, in power, you talk to?

Good luck with your fight. I think you’re wasting your time as I’m sure we will all be dead when horse racing stops being a sport!

No – I wouldn’t like to let you know who I am, or what I do.

But your attitude that "it’s OK as we’ll all be dead by the time it’s banned" is selfish. We owe a duty to the next generation not to allow the things we love to be screwed up terminally in our time, when we’re in a position to stop it happening.

Thought not Pinza. Safe to assume you are a nobody who’s moaning on a forum. How’s that going to get anything done? Especially as you’re not even prepared to let "racing fans" know who you are and how they can join you in your paranoia, sorry, fight.
