October 1, 2013 at 07:51 #453127
the summers over.the nights are drawing in and i couldnt be more happy with the prospect of top class jumping around the corner.
even with frankel around i couldnt wait for it,so imagine what im like this year
October 3, 2013 at 22:28 #453386I also cant wait
until the Fely seasonOctober 7, 2013 at 23:59 #454078I’m going to miss the Flat season but it’s still in full swing at the moment with lots of Group racing to come in the next couple of weeks with some good pointers to the Classics next year.
Looking back to the beginning of the season at my local track Newmarket to the Craven Meeting
The Craven stakes winner
TORONADO
The Fielden Stakes winner
INTELLO
2000 Guineas
DAWN APPROACH
1000 Guineas
SKY LANTERN
July Cup
LETHAL FORCE
and much more.
Big Handicaps like the Cambridgeshire
EDUCATE
and the Cesarewitch yet to be run along with the Dewhurst and then Champions Day at Royal Ascot followed by the Racing Post Trophy a week later where Derby winners such as Camelot, Authorized,Motivator and Reference Point have begun their careers, and now we have witnessed what could be the fastest filly in Europe TREVE winning the Arc.
Even without FRANKEL it’s been an exciting season so far (and it’s not over yet) and I have enjoyed every minute of it.I’m not a great fan of jump racing but still love the horses that take part, all I can wish for them is that they come back after each of their races sound and safe, same goes for jockeys too…oh and
ROLL ON THE CRAVEN MEETING 2014
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 8, 2013 at 00:04 #454079Flat racing leaves me, well, flat. Can’t beat the spectacle of jump racing.Watching the race unfold with all its ups and downs.
October 8, 2013 at 00:07 #454080It’s the downs that I don’t enjoy Mr. P, but each to their own,
enjoy the season
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 8, 2013 at 00:13 #454081The downs are all part of it and I hope it never gets too sanitised. These beasts are bred for the sport.
Enjoy the rest of the flat, not forgetting the all weather
October 8, 2013 at 07:45 #454093May everyone cheer when a horse rises from a fall more than the winner, I hate it when ignorant idiots cheer when a horse falls.

Absolutely Phil
I was at a meeting last year when a horse fell heavily at the last and a moron standing behind me cheered.
I didn’t say anything at the time but the next race he was still there with his mates and I turned round and said to him "you may like to know the horse you cheered when it fell in the last race died, so I hope you’re still feeling happy."
He was actually quite sheepish so I hope he learned his lesson.
October 8, 2013 at 08:55 #454097Well said Paul and Phil .. to cheer a fallen horse is ignorant and
it’s so hard to see any horse fall or break down injured, they are all special to the people that own, train and care for them, I feel especially for the lad or lass who turned them out for the day. I hope that stupid man learnt a lesson in humility that day.Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 8, 2013 at 10:27 #454102great. hairy yaks plodding around a field
let’s hope it’s a harsh winter this year

Does the OP "jumps fan" not realise that jump races have been going on all through the summer.
October 8, 2013 at 11:17 #454109I’m sure the OP realises this and simply means "takes centre stage."

I love jump racing, but it’s for horses by failed Flat sires, many of who were too slow for the Flat themselves.
That said, the quality at the very top of Jump racing probably borders on pattern standard for the Flat.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"October 8, 2013 at 13:01 #454119Echo the original sentiments, bit of a shame we had to wait until October 6 for the Flat season to start.
Thankfully, we now don’t have to tolerate the worst bunch of jocks I can remember and endless waffle about pace angles and time figures. Bliss.

Yes. It’s almost as if they’ve put obstacles in the way.
