if i add the average bhb rating of a race with the average reverse vdw rating do people think that this will be good enough rating or should i use top bhb rating or top bhb rating at 10st on the flat along with reverse vdw[its not so simple any more] looking to add points for competitivness, reverse vdw averaged out looks to be a good rough indication of what was in the race but does,nt tell you enough i.e class
sorry pompete but it looks more like a class rating rather than a competitivness rating looking for a rating that will tell me what kind of form the horses in the race are in were there a lot of winners in the race rated two races using reverse vdw ratings spring cup average rating 21 winter derby rating 18 spring cup slightly more competitive
would like to use simple vdw ratings but am changing to racform for the flat because it gives you better trainer track and jockey stats would like to rate all races past and future for competitivness if a horse is coming down in money and competitivness , class and class of track good bet perhaps ?
no i would like to rate the race not the horses i know i will have to rate the horses first but i would like a rating as to how competitive each race is in the past and in the future a race full of winners should be more competitive than a race full of unplaced animals there must be a way of rating a race for competitivness using simple or paper ratings sorry if i was vague
;) semple quoted in a scottish paper that big timer would not be beaten
yes hatton with 15 yes 15 group 1,2 or 3 runs under his belt 6th in the derby class must tell here with big timer in the previous the belmont flop
used the solidus method to time consuming i,ve said i,ll put the book away for my retirement you can pay for these speed figs also was unsure on how to use them to best advantage worked shifts and in high summer not enough hours in the day to busy number crunching not enough time race analysing thats why i went back to vdw
would you also use a cut of point say half a length per furlong or would you let class tell would like to develope this in the flat season
read your article and thought it would help with my vdw assesment lost my smart sig got time on my hands want to stop watching crap on tv have done speed figs in the past[wont do that again]willing to put in a few hours a week for just a wee bit profit and enjoyment use it along with racing post speed and handicap ratings would you recomend
its the way he seems to have been placed[keepatem] ran at track two races ago ran well at distance lto cant take jaqouille as his vdw class rating is only 80 while keepatem is the top rated at 371 its also dropping 12 lbs in weight and ran not to long ago so we will see good luck
you may have overlooked one flatseason keepatem trained by jj went through the race use vdw and when trained in ireland won 68k race on boxing day two years ago making it the class horse of 10 st 1lb ran well lto over 4m
anyone noticed that n richards has two favs at hexham before his fav in the secound at cheltenham fiver round robin for me i think?
i will not be use the system on its own but as part of a selection method it shows up COPSALE LAD today in the 4.00
formath will you please go through how you arrive at your lists step by step this will be a great addition to my vdw grid are there anything on percentages with top three rated
it takes something special to win two races at one cheltenham, but i think that fair along can win the arkle and the county hurdle;)
