She won’t be on Going Wrong, but she will be on Charingworth, Riguez Dancer if he gets a run, and De Boitron, who has now been backed into 10/1 second fav for the Grand Annual

Any chance she will get the ride on Going Wrong in the Centenary Novices Handicap Chase?

    I doubt it

It would appear others know more than me! Lucy Alexander will be riding De Boitron in the Grand Annual

Tony Kelly is another…perhaps he may enlist the services of someone else for DB however, with more experience perhaps…?

And with Kalahari King running in the same colours it seems likely a more experienced head would be required for both

Outside chance she’ll be on De Boitron in the Grand Annual, although I think that’ll possibly go to Keith Mercer.

Informed sources say that’s doubtful. Keith Mercer is injured at the moment as well.

I am in touch with Paul and he isn’t riding in Oz, and it doesn’t sound like he’s missing the UK or the weather.

Just as well Paul Nichols and Tom Dreaper, Kauto Star and Arkle never thought the same way  I do sort of agree with you though.

Tom Dreaper had a fair few good ones. How about Flying Bolt in the box next to Arkle? And Paul Nicholls is far from a one-horse trainer.

Their situation is much different to Ginger’s.

I think we all know where Joe is coming from though

Dalgleish has done a brilliant job with cheap horses. All this love for John Ferguson masks the fact he is winning bumpers and juvenile hurdles with horses bred to win a Derby, often ‘donated’ by the very kind Sheikh.

Is "donated" another word for "owned"?

De Boitron has never been rated 150.
The Racing Post put that rating in the paper because he ran from out of the handicap at Cheltenham on 13th April 2011, but his official rating has never been higher than 137

It is now 135 and will probably drop 2 or 3 for today at Doncaster.
His highest ever winning mark is 126.

I will still back him at Cheltenham, but he may go in a 2m4 or 2m5 handicap not necessarily the Grand Annual

Mikey Fogarty has become one of the best young amateurs in Ireland.

But still has a lot to learn about following instructions.

He totally ignored instructions of a trainer that were given in my presence, resulting in a very poor run from the horse. The horse has subsequently gone on to much better things ridden differently.

He should never be allowed to ride a horse in public again and that is regardless of whatever whip rules may be in force

Did you actually see the ride Paul? It certainly didn’t look like abuse, the total number of his may have been high but viewing it live it didn’t look like he was hitting the horse, it just looked like he was waving the whip. The stewards have the benefit of many views but the contact must have minimal.

I have seen horses given much much harsher treatment from others, like Barry Geraghty, Jason Maguire, Tony McCoy, etc.

The most overlooked stallion still around is ASTARABAD.

    A bargain too.

I agree with the points raised in the last two comments. However, I don’t agree with people buying racehorses whilst being either unaware or willfully ignorant of the perils of offloading a racehorse.

A dog is for life and not just for Christmas. But a horse is just too burdensome.

    :(

Bachelors Hall you win the prize for the most self righteous and pompous poster I have ever had the misfortune to read on here.

If you had any grasp of real life you would realise that if everyone followed your idea of fixing up a retirement home before purchasing a racehorse the sport would die. Harsh reality.

Morning feed time varies by trainer but I know head lads that start at 5 to feed. Because horses can’t speak trainers rely on known behaviour to judge health. If a horse would normally be a greedy grubber then not eating is a fair indication all’s not well.
Blood tests might be taken the day before and the results arrive in the morning.
