But, I wouldn’t be opposed to a grateful nation paying for and presenting the Queen with a new Racehorse/foal to thank her for whatever she does.

Perhaps Racing for Change could make this their next ‘Project’….

I don’t mind her spending a few quid on whatever.

Nice to have a Monarch our countries entire history is filled with Kings and Queens who spent loads on all sorts of silly things but our ancestors made them royalty in the first place and it’s traditional and costs money like it or not. Also brings lots of money in too

I like it because when the Queen buys a horse or whatever it’s open forall to see.

Why the hell not, most of the money will be raised privately it seems and if it lasts half as long as the last one it will be fair value for money and create some employment.

Is horse racing, a sport which while creating many jobs also creates much misery through gambling and sees a lot of people tossing money away on a hobby, a sound base for criticising a new royal yacht?

Yeah, why not? I am quite happy for Her Maj to have a new boat.

I thought it was terrible when they scrapped the Britannia and made her cry. I believe it’s the only time she’s been overcome with emotion in public. Not a nice thing to do to a great lady (IMHO)

The Queen represents exceptional value for money, the income generated through tourism in comparison to what she receives from the Civil List makes her the most cost efficient Civil Servant in the country.

If she loves Britain so much she shouldn’t need a yacht for what she does. Man utd bring in many tourists, should their owners be bought gifts ?…i also suspect galleries and musuems draw in more tourists than the queen.

The Queen will be on a dolled up Thames river cruiser, "The Spirit Of Chartwell".

Should be a magnificent spectacle, in a magnificent city imo.
