i’ve backed border patrol 3 times this year and he looks a cracking horse. if he does run i’ll have a little bit on him. the favourite has had two very hard tasks this year and he must be somewhere near. if he’s out the first three i’ll buy a hat and eat it. and with the boys in blue being in fantastic form it sets up a good race.

i cannot believe people are saying £20 is steep and are comparing it to setanta. may i remind them that setanta was not a viable business thats why it’s no longer with us. if you cannot afford £4-65 a week you really shouldn’t be gambling anyway.

i like Rakaan but cannot bring myself to back a maiden in a group 2, brian meehan has shown a lot of faith in him.

Just had a good look at this race now. The form doesn’t look anything special imo. Even with a very sedate pace there was still nothing good enough besides Harbinger to quicken like a decent horse should and he won without a challenge. He wasn’t pulling ahead either despite being ridden out vigorously to the line. Ordinary enough Group 3 form and certainly didn’t see any Oaks credentials on display from the winner.

oaks credentials? …………………. stop smoking the weed boss.

i like Corperal Maddox in this, i backed him last time in france over 5 and he ran very well. never having the pace to go with the two infront but was gaining at the finish. karl burke said he was 100% sure he wasn’t a 5 furlong horse and would need 6 at the very least. Burke/Crowley have a excellent record on 2-year-olds this year. 16/1 was only available for 2 hours last night, cut to 10/1, which is positive.

I’m looking forward to this race and seeing Harbinger again. There was a bit of 9/4 on offer but lasted about 10 minutes.

I hope he wins but there are slight doubts about the trip and most likley SMS won’t have him 100% for this. It is a big test for the horse but the main thing will be to see if he stays well enough to run in the St Leger.

thats what i was thinking, he wouldn’t be quite 100% looking at his entries. this, the group 2 voltiguer at york then onto doncaster. sms has bound to left something to work on.

i think urban poet looks interesting, his win at hamilton was facile and he cost a fair packet £2.9 million, this could be his cup final seeing as he has no other entries in his book.his trainer loves the meeting. it’s a tough un, if i can get 9/4 again for the sms horse then that’ll do for me.

i’ve found an answer to my own question. to anyone else who’s interested.

Harbinger did not run in the King Edward VII at Royal Ascot due to a strained muscle in his quarters, which prevented Sir Michael from working him beforehand so will now head to Goodwood at the end of July. Although this was extremely disappointing for his owners in the Admiral Rous syndicate, the horse himself is one hundred percent sound and, in Michael’s own words, “this is a proper horse and must be treated as such.”

6/4 the rip isn’t value, i cannot keep him out of the first 3 tho, maybe a reverse forecast on the two obvious ones. i did say to myself weeks ago that mr hills horse should be followed until beaten. :?

no. it’s just the way he runs his races, and the draw, track and everything else playing to conduit’s strengths. golden sword will finish second or third. i cannot see three coming over the top of him. imo that is. :P
