I always feel theres a sense of inverted snobbery at play with Nico.

And i feel it gets his shackles up more than it should and he reacts.

Mind, declan crying to matt chapman, what was that about? Surely keep it in the weighing room. By all means make an official complaint. Also the “i’m an amateur card” nice day out with the wife and kids, its the bloody pinnacle of the sport. Everybody deserves respect, but its also a level playing field.

The racist aspect will be interesting. Cant for the life of me think what he has said thats racist. If he’s made anti-irish slurs or whatever, thats gonna make him very, very unpopular. Sure his best mate is gavin sheehan.

Anyway, hopefully it gets sorted through proper channels and we can avoid the pile on.

Not sure what to do here? Last night i put on an e/w trixie with irish panther being the third leg. Checked this morning and i have accidentally hit Quilixios.

Could go one of two ways. If i was a betting man (which i am, although clearly inept!), i reckon irish panther will romp in. Cant change my bet, cos then Quilixios will romp in.

    Quandary.

Wont be watching live either so wont know my fate until around 7pm tonight!

Totally agree glad. I know one thing, racing will be a much, much poorer place without him.

Got my free bets at weekend as backed a horse at sandown, but still not settled old park star, or money back as free bet loser (backed mighty park as bet to nothing)

For kopek see majborough tomorrow, cant make any errors at that speed.

I was on kopek and completely disagree with AP, he would have won if he’d gog the last right.

Nap. Teahupoo. No mistakes this time, just ride him like the best horse in the race, which he is. Rare form this year. 5/2 about, he’s as rock solid as any of the favourites about.

Lay- Majborough. This race has been a graveyard for fancied horses, generally down to jumping errors. I can’t be having a horse that’s chasing career has been blighter by errors on the back of one clear (albeit very good) run. Can’t be doing odds on, on a dodgy jumper, in the CC.

Each way- Like Spillanes tower in the GC at a big price. Liked his performance in Cotswold, hope Jack Kennedy rides again, think he can still improve for the trip so looks like an unexposed 8-year-old.

That looks a very deep renewal, but you dont really know until next season.

I thought slade steels year loiked top quality. Not sure a horse in that race has won since!

The vibes coming out of clossuton are enough to sooth any fears over kopek’s lack of experience.

Whilst i think lulamba is a fantastic horse, he’d be in the 2 and a half miler if it was still a grade 1.

Kopek has the more natural 2 mile speed.

Its a fantastic race. I have backed old park star to trigger my free bets with Boyle sports.

Hendos being quite tight lipped. Its giving me the Altior supreme vibes, min was the talking horse, a bit like mighty park.

I feel like, on the day, i’ll probably go again and double with kopek.

According to BBC its light drizzle or light rain every day at Cheltenham between now and next Friday. According to XC there’s loads of rain about. What on earth are they playing at watering? We could have absolutely perfect jumping ground for the best horses to thrive if they just leave it alone.

I dont really care about the prestbury cup, but i do care about british trainers competing. The balance needs readdressing and this year it looks like britain has more contenders.

Winning the big festival races is the way to get the spread of good horses shared amongst trainers. Not to mention willie and gordon getting to juggle there abundance of talent to the detriment of the races.

I also would like to see trainers and jockeys who i am invested in win at the festival. I wanna see Hendo, Nicholls, skelton, pauling do the business.

But i I understand some people just want to see good horses and dont care who trains them.

First day is a big big day for the brits. Favs in the supreme, arkle, likely CH, ultima. Live chances in plate

If they dont win at least 3 on first day it really sets the tone.

“The Cromwell horse require soft ground”

Didn’t Mullins blame Fact to files no show in the King George on the quicker ground and said he’d not run him on it again. Personally i think Fact to file has something of a patchy record in open company and he struggles to put two good runs together. Brilliant on his day but has off days too. I don’t think the Gold Cup would bring out one of his best days.

Everyone forgetting Spillane’s Tower (and possibly I am Maximus). Cant see JP throwing all three darts at Gold Cup.

Most likely scenario is fact of file Ryanair and Gaelic Warrior Gold cup. Jonbon sensibly kept back for Aintree.

FWIW i quite like Spillanes tower for this.

I cant even comprehend why it would even be a question this year.

-an extra £180’000 in prize money
-mares race no formality, Wodhooh a big danger (Personally i think Wodhooh will beat her)
-the CH is piss Poor and she might just have to beat the New Lion to win (would be weighted to do so comfortably with her allowance)
-Mullins doesnt really have another chance in the CH (if you want to argue Anzadam or Poniros then go for it, but theres zero to support it)

Basically if Mullins opts for the mares hurdle then he’s a terrible trainer who has absolutely fluked the numerous trainers championships, winning every thing there is to win and breaking every record there is to break. Very, very lucky man. ;-)

Perhaps he looked so good on the flat because he enjoyed it. Enjoyed the change, the aw, the quicker shorter race, the flat track, the occassion, the stalls.

This notion that he just needs a clear round win the CH is, perhaps, just that.

Fact is he got round at punchestown and got hammered, he was not travelling well at all when he came down at aintree. Even at cheltenham he wasnt cruising with that air of inevitability or invincibility he once had. He could go to the CH and looks distinctly uninterested.
