No, he didn’t appreciate the drop back in trip and the Arkle is even shorter than that
They could race him wide but might wait for AintreeI’d just run him anyway probably. Hes got the course form, we know he handles the occasion of the festival and hes a good jumper and hes just won an Arkle trial which even if he’d been beaten wouldnt have been that far. Look what happened last year with Jango. Fences need jumping at the end of the day and hes a very safe conveyance who will get round and could place anyway. I think the horse he beat is pretty good too fwiw
Mambonumberfive is a horse that has really impressed me. He was
more than happy to stay well out back last time at Kempton and
anytime he wanted to close is was immediate. Coming to the 3rd
last he moved from last, without having to touch the horse, to sit
alongside the leader. Jumped the 2nd last and casually went 5 lengths
clear. Good jump at the last and he finished 7 lengths clear, but it
could have been much further.The horse looked so nonchalant for the most part of the race and yet
his winning time was 4.49 seconds faster than the average. I think
this is a really good horse and I’ve taken him for 16/1 and in the

I don’t much like the idea of Kopek Des Bordes coming here after only one run. I would have thought it is more likely he will miss this race and run at Punchestown instead.
The problem is Kopek didn’t make Christmas which was two months ago.
