I think that the William Hill phoneline is "only" 10p per minute.

    .

    Keyword "regularly".

Pros have two or three bets per month.

How many pro’s do you know?? Obviously not many.

Is anyone else fed-up with the Racing Post Bloodstock section in the Paper being taken up with them promoting and talking about the Yearling Bonus scheme that they sponsor.

Frankly unless you own an eligible 2 year old its totally irrelevant.

Can we get back to some proper bloodstock news please.

I occasionally bet on the US racing and agree that their is not enough liquidity on Betfair to do this via the betting exchange route.

However having said that I do use Betfair to bet straight into the US pools. Its as easy as using the UK tote and they offer all the markets. Not only win place and show, but things like the Pick 6 as well.

    I don’t know how much I deserved.

In terms of where it should come from, obviously thats a complex question but essentially all of the parties that profited from that race being run should pay a fair amount from their profits.

Most notably the bookmakers/exchanges and the racecourse.

I’ve noticed that there has been a lot of horses self certified in the last week drawn wide over Kemptons 5F.

It must be something in the air there!!

Personally I think it is great value for money. Just think what the horseracing world would be like without it.

I reckon his Bette Noir is Goodwood. You would have to go a long way to find a more pompous and full of its own importance racourse!

I love racing always have and always will, so much that I throw my money down the drain each year to own horses.

However I get very angry with the us and them attitude that still prevails.

For instance at the big meetings I can understand it, but with your bog standard mid week meeting why on earth do you have seperate enclosures. To me it just sends out the wrong signal. Other things which annoy me and I know baffle my un racing friends who I sometimes convince to come are:

Why can’t I take my drink outside of the bar and watch the races at the same time?
What gives a racecourse the right to tell me what to wear?
Why do trainers think it is beneath them to talk to the punters via the press, without whom they wouldn’t have a job.

I think that the last point is probably the most pertinent, and the best way to popularise the sport is to make it more personal. Take a look at the way that Setanta cover the Blue Sq Premier football, they have the managers announcing their own team, they talk to the managers during the game, and often interview players as they are walking off the pitch.

I think racing needs to realise that it is an entertainment industry and embrace the opportunities that new technologies give it. Why not mic jockeys up during a race? Why not televise stewards enquirys etc. etc.

Out of all the ones I deal with I would suggest that Bet365 are the best.

I had the misfortune to deal with him regarding the purchase of a horse. Just about the most rude and obnoxious man that I’ve ever met.

I obviously deal with them all, and would say that Bet365 are the best for horseracing.

For Football I tend to use Blue Sq.

Blue Sq are probably the best for this sort of thing.
