February 8, 2018 at 17:20 #1341287well done steve/clints and jac and fingers crossed for the Acca Jac
February 8, 2018 at 17:22 #1341288Oh yes I forgot NW. Good Luck with the acca Jac.
If mine don’t win I hope your Zaman does
February 8, 2018 at 18:44 #1341291good stuff everyone some great picks and winners and plenty of unlucky runs and near misses. I will put next weeks decs up as soon as they become available. 2000gns next week
Not giving to much away, did anything impress catch your eye today?
I think my selection in the last could well pick up a race, with stronger pace or up slightly in trip (Basateen)
see you all next week
February 8, 2018 at 19:03 #1341294Ouch that smarts

What did I stupidly mention about something coming out of the pack the bookies always seem to come up smelling of
horsh!t
I mean roses..Bad luck also Steve but at least the single bets came in nicely … Always worried about Zaman and that run behind Expert Eye who went on to disappoint at Newmarket be interesting where Stoute aims him for the season ahead.Disappointed having got three home, it would have paid around £100 for a fiver.
Well done Jack, Clints, nwalton, Steve, Raymo, MOM and Chivers
I ended up evens on the day with a couple of non runners so back again next week to try again..
Enjoyed the day..Well done to all with winners and places
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...February 8, 2018 at 19:04 #1341295Zaman done in by a rank outsider. I didn’t see the start of the race but Zaman seemed to be in an impossible position and would needed to have been Arazi to win from where he was. I suspect this was a very weak race, with Tangled, as I had suspected he might, running like a drain again. All the more disappointing the Zaman could not cash in then.
As Jac said earlier, something always seems to save the bookies.
Still, not a bad day. Glad to have spotted the bad value on Heavy Metal early. It seemed obvious enough that the trip would be an issue today.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
February 8, 2018 at 19:18 #1341300Yes good spot on Heavy Metal Steve, himself and Blair House are not consistent types and usually win when you take your eye off the ball.
I was disappointed Grendisar didn’t get a run as I got 100/1 for him and he was backed down to 12/1
not sure what happened to him hope all is well, he probably suddenly twigged that he wasn’t at Lingfield and flipped. All in all the best quality fields so far and set to get better..Well done all this is a great Thread.

3.05 Ormindo 10s and Grand Argentier 16s both e/w —
3.40 My Catch 9/2
4.15 Polybius 16/1 ew
4.50 Thunder Snow 13/8 Decent 3yo form in UK and abroad, hope he can come on for the run and turn the form around.
5.25- Zaman 10/11,
6.00- Leshlaa 9/1 and Banksea 6/1. Both e/wA good day at the office in the end for me, 9/1, 9/2, 13/8 and evs winners…and the 6/1 second..
Zaman just touched off…and my other bigger priced selections not good enough (Polybius, Orimindo and Grand Argentier)
Still good profit
Well done all.Twitter: Jackh1092

February 8, 2018 at 20:01 #1341308LOL ‘N’ next time he runs he’ll be unbackable and finish last..
Could possibly turn up next Thursday in an easier contest will keep a look out.
Thanks for making me smile.

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...February 8, 2018 at 21:25 #1341314You’ve got to be chuffed with that day’s punting Jackh. A very mixed card with a few tricky ones, so nice to hit some good odds.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
February 9, 2018 at 00:57 #1341339My fire record on this thread has marginally improved from 2/20 to 5/27 now. Very poor strike rate.
Well done all winners. The front on replay view of the screen with the broken down horse in the background somewhat marred the days racing for me. Just hope he was PTS quickly.
February 10, 2018 at 00:44 #1341504@MOM
Just takes one incident like Scrutineer breaking down to put a cloud over the day and it’s the worst sight to see, you don’t feel happy in yourself knowing that a horse has lost it’s life and yet people are cheering for the winners, I don’t think I’ll ever get over that sadness for as long as I go racing and all respect should be given too those that have lost a much loved horse and IMO replays should not be an option when this happens.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...February 12, 2018 at 08:50 #1341819decs up for Thursday at emiratesracing.com
February 12, 2018 at 09:58 #1341822I see Across The Stars is now with Richard Hannon, even though RP still has him with Sir Michael Stoute
February 12, 2018 at 12:39 #1341859As I had expected some time ago, Gold Town will be odds on to quite a serious degree.
It’s an awful standard of race to be called a 2000 Guineas, with Gold Town the only runner rated over 100 and he has 12 lbs in hand of his field on official ratings.
Isn’t there anyone who would like to take a horse with a little bit of talent to the race and try to manage to make a profit out of the $250,000 purse?
Will check the other races later but this one is a bitterly disappointing non-event.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
February 12, 2018 at 13:33 #1341869Fair point Steve, anyone any idea as to the cost of taking a horse to the Meydan fez? i wouldnt be surprised if they covered some of the cost.
