Lost at Newcastle on the 20th April
April 28, 2026 at 18:09 #1765147Thought this thread would be about Everton.
My condolences to the horse’s connections.
May 2, 2026 at 20:32 #1765758I had been worried about The Bitters; I now see the worst and the vile previous post.
May 3, 2026 at 00:44 #1765793I do wonder sometimes how people get through life.
May 6, 2026 at 20:09 #1766172You have not made yourself clear although I suspect you are insulting me rather than supporting me; either way, generally it is unwise to post after midnight.
As I stated, it is vile to attempt to make a pathetic joke in relation to the suffering and death of a racehorse; no sympathy was expressed for the dead horse, only for the connections.
I am a keen supporter of flat racing and hate to see a horse injured or killed, which far too many continue to be on the flat; the bha needs to address this more effectively.
It is clear, from experiences at racecourses, that only a minority of people are concerned about injuries and deaths of horses; such people presumably take the easy way through life and think only of themselves.May 6, 2026 at 20:56 #1766174That’s a lot of cod psychoanalysis there.
May 6, 2026 at 22:24 #1766179There are people on this forum who are just allergic to too many opinions about horses’ welfare. They will respond with crap like “treated like kings, living the best life in a 5 star hotel” and further BS…
It’s called freedom of speech or something like that.May 6, 2026 at 22:31 #1766181I thought the joke seemed a bit out of place in a memorial thread.
RIP The Bitters
May 7, 2026 at 09:25 #1766192I can’t imagine why anyone would make an attempt at humour in a memorials post.
May 7, 2026 at 15:29 #1766210I can only conclude that some of you have never been to a wake in your lives.
May 7, 2026 at 21:28 #1766237I don’t think it’s a minority who care about fatal injuries , I think there are some like me hate to see it , who wouldn’t really but accept it as part of a sport with 500 kgs moving at pace , if I got so bad it really upset me id move on to punting on sport . I think racing does it’s best .
I get cheesed off horses that continually go round as no hopers appearing on the list , or horses that are getting on and have earned their corn plus some,I in those cases have sympathy for horse not connections so much .May 7, 2026 at 23:36 #1766244Nobody likes to see horses die. But it is an inevitable part of the sport.
