Will be taking a look tomorrow
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...February 13, 2018 at 10:44 #134200115 face the starter in the 2000 with likely short priced fav Gold Town drawn 4,as steve pointed out such a weak event.
One that catches my eye and will be hopefully an EW price is Out Do in the six furlong event(race 4)
February 13, 2018 at 12:50 #1342017Had a look today and not too inspired but have picked out a few fancies for interest on Thursday..
1st Race (3.05)….BEST SOLUTION **NAP**
2nd Race (3.40)….Don’t Give Up
3rd Race (4.15)….Dutch Masterpiece
4th Race (4.50) 2000 Guineas …… Roland Rocks
6th Race (6.00)….Salateen – Each Way 2nd Best – Reverse Forecast with Sayoof
BEST SOLUTION looks the best bet of the day apart from Gold Trail, he ran as if he needed his last race and hopefully will be race fit on Thursday.Don’t Give Up seems an improving sort and has the beating of a few of these including his stable companion Alabaster and quite well treated at the weights.
Dutch Masterpiece just goes from strength to strength and gives every race his all. Outdo is definitely in with a chance being 4lb better off for around half a length beating so good luck with him ‘N’.
Hope they don’t let Jordan Sport get too much of a run on them all.Hard to back against Gold Trail in the 2000 Guineas, but for better odds will take a chance on Roland Rockswho seems to perform better on the dirt at Meydan and could go close especially considering the great improver Wasim, who was 4th to Gold Trail last time out Roland Rocks (2nd), got up for a shock victory over Zaman last week.
The last race I’m going for a plunge each way on Salateenwho is my idea of one who may show a marked improvement on his last run.
Sayoof beat Salateen out of sight on 23rd Feb 2017 in fact he was last, 2 weeks later Salateen was back in the UK and won at Wolverhampton at 25/1 beating Keystroke by a nose, a classic David O’Meara turn around. Salateen is a class horse and just taking a big chance that he could turn up at double figures especially with the jockey who rode Wasim now on his back Adrie De Vries who is chalking up a nice portfolio of big priced winners in Meydan.
Reverse Forecast
Salateen with SayoofGood luck everyone, looking forward to all your thoughts on Thursdays meeting.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...February 13, 2018 at 13:06 #1342019good stuff Jac
February 14, 2018 at 04:45 #1342126Good luck Jac.
This looks an absolute shocker of a card. Worst so far by a mile
February 14, 2018 at 08:53 #1342139agree with you MOM the card is the worse so far
February 14, 2018 at 09:06 #13421405 handicaps, am awful group 3 with one half decent horse in and an Arab race.
Genuinely the worst Meydan Thursday card in many years in my opinion.
February 14, 2018 at 09:56 #1342149Haven’t had much of a look, will wait for prices to come out. Racing Posts tissue wouldn’t be the most reliable.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!February 14, 2018 at 17:48 #1342216Most of the races don’t really look like my kind of thing!! Too small fields and not enough class so to speak!!
However have managed to sort out oa few to carry my pennies.
My main bet is TIS MARVELLOUS (4.15). Clive Cox obviously thought something of this horse and it will think it has got loose after running against the class of animal it did last year. Last week would have been a pipe opener and at 8/1 I shall be investing each way of course.
The 4.50 looks a penalty kick for Gold Town as he looks different gear to these but have had a small each way bet on ROY ORBISON at 25/1 as he has ran behind the fav and stayed on well without looking like winning.
The 5.25 has to be PRINCE OF ARRAN who ran well behind Los Barbados last time and I think will turn it around this week. And finally 6.00 I have backed two in this both each way and for completely different reasons. TASHWEEQ at 33/1 purely and simply because if it runs to Hunt Cup form from last year it will go very close!! The second one is HORS DE COMBAT who ran well behind Salsabeel last time and should come on a ton for that on its first run since October.
Good Luck Folks
February 14, 2018 at 19:05 #1342223I agree that this card isn’t overwhelming..
My only bet is NATURAL SCENERY in R6, so far she hasn’t been the winning type,
but I liked her last form. A slight increase would suffice to prevail here,
and I think Soumillion will help her to take the victory!February 14, 2018 at 19:17 #1342225tough stuff tomorrow and stakes at a minimum
3.05 Best Solution to reverse form with Golden Wood
4.15 Out Do back up to six will be my play @ 13/2 ew with PP
not my sort of bet in anyway shape or form, but surely Gold Town at 1/2 (skybet/WH) is one for the money buyers, or can someone put up opposition to him?
5.25 Natural Scenery is looking a bit of a dodge, she has the ability to win it without doubt, but at odds 5/4 he wont be getting penny of my money, its a sit and watch race for me (6/4 is available 365)
6.00 a lot of out of sorts in this event and I would just probably edge towards Suyoof (some 3s around) with the hope he is ridden a little more forward tomorrow. In fact both market leaders are hold up performers, it will be hairy times for their supporters, will Salateen and to a lesser extent London Protocol in the race fingers crossed there is enough pace for the hold up performers
good luck ladies/gents it maybe needed
February 14, 2018 at 19:33 #1342231Blimey the Racing Post agree with me about Tashweek
February 14, 2018 at 19:50 #1342233I agree with a few judges here that it’s perhaps not the best meeting this week either on the quality front or indeed from a betting perspective. There are a few runners who you’d think really should win, like Natural Scenery and Best Solution but would I take 5/4 and 13/8? No.
Only a couple of bets for me this week. I have Jordan Sport as the most likely winner of the sprint at 4.15 and at 5/1 with SkyBet’s each-way placings stretching to the first 4, I feel he’s a storming e/w bet.
My only other devilment involves the 2000 Guineas and that’s an each-way tickle on Daffg at 10/1 with Bet365, although only 3 places this time. De Sousa is on board and this is the only runner I could feasibly see defeating the odds-on favourite. His form of his last time out maiden win looks strong and he’s been given a nice break since then compared to others who have had a busy time of things.
Here’s hoping there’s money to be made for the punters on a seemingly straight forward card.
February 14, 2018 at 20:46 #1342249Wussup. Evening all. I understand a few peoples feelings on the quality of the card but I think overall its OK. I thought the one a few weeks back was a stinker.
I agree with quite a few of you on selections this week so I’ll just give a quick summary of what I think.
305 – Best Solution has a weight pull on Golden Wood this time around and that one had a fitness advantage over the Godolphin inmate. I maintain that BS will be aimed at the group 2 on Super Saturday so I would hope he has the class to pull through here. 7/4 is short enough though and I consider him my weakest bet of the evening.
340 – I don’t like this race. Don’t give up ran a nice race to win last time but Alabaster is a bit of a monkey and should he get out out of the stalls properly this time then anything could happen. Potential for an upset from some outsiders as well.
415 – I thought Tis Marvellous ran a nice race first time up and he was running on so I expect him to improve from finishing just over 2 lengths behind Dutch Masterpiece and Jordan Sport. He gets weight and has more scope than the two mentioned considering they have now had a few runs under their belt. 7/1 is a tidy price.
450 – I got on Gold Town at 1/2 as I feel its a fair reflection on what he produced last time. Traveled well, cleared the field, eased down. This would be a huge disappointment if he wasn’t able to deliver the goods over a furlong further.
525 – 11/10 for Natural Scenery???? Jesus H Christ. To be fair, she is a nice horse and of course has a good chance of winning but at the prices it has to be Prince Of Arran at 7/2. They’ve met each other twice and POA has finished in front of her both times so I believe there has to be every chance he gets the better of her and the rest of the field. (Los Barbados had fitness edge on both last time)
600 – Suyoof badly needed the run last time and shaped with promise so at 3/1 he just gets my vote over Hornsby who have I much respect for on form but feel he’s a bit too short at the 11/4 on offer.
I hope I’ve got some of this right. Good luck my fellow Meydanians.
February 14, 2018 at 21:36 #1342262Had written the guts of 500 words on my selection to go and then close the tab

3.05- Best Solution 7/4- Good UK form as a 3yo, without being top drawer- shown by failing to win when jet-setting around Europe to try and pick up a G1. However, there could be further progression as a 4yo. He will strip fitter for this and be tough to beat.
3.40- Jupiter light 10/1 and w/o fav when a market arrives- I could look stupid, but on their UK form, i think the price difference here with the fav is all wrong.Of course, he hasnt ran so that couuld be the main worry.
4.15- What a minefield, no idea lol. Eqtiraan 12/1 e/w- Should improve for the step up to 6F, and he has some decent sprint form, not quite to the level of some of the more fancied runners, but hes aged and weighted to improve.
4.50- Gold Town, terrible race, the end.
5.25- I was going to side with Natural Scenery until i saw the prices, Prince of Arran it is. 7/2.
6.00 Kafoo Shememi 6/1 e/w- Decent UK form, i think he’ll be more progressive than Hors Combat, who is arguably weighted do beat him.
Good Luck fellas,

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!February 14, 2018 at 22:37 #1342269I’ll add Hornsby and hors de combat to the 600. Combi tricast with suyoof for the craic
February 14, 2018 at 22:52 #1342272Good luck with your choices everyone, quite a selection throughout the day but we all seem to agree on Best Solution and Suyoof

In the last race have done my rev forecast with Salateen and as an each way bet with Paddy Power going 20/1 Salateen means he’s probably 33/1 with other bookies.
Good luck with Tashweeq and HDC Raymo perhaps do a small combi forecast with Sayoof just in case.
I think this is the race I’m most looking forward to.Roland Rocks was also trading at 20/1 for the 2000 Guineas so if he can sneak a 2nd to Gold Town that would be a bonus.
This time tomorrow we’ll be mulling over what might have been
let’s hope we have a few winners under our belts…good luck guys
