Is it morally wrong to accept a fee for a service the market is willing to pay for? Also, surely these premium tipsters have more knowledge than the desperate souls who are paying for the service.
Someone said Steve Mellish has a premium tipping line yet he apparently has few bets and while that would excuse his appearances as an expert on tv why would he give winners on a premium tipping line if he’s not backing them himself?
It is because mugs will phone the line regardless and it’s easy money. His selections may show a profit but I doubt tipsters are able to do the amount of studying required to give out bombproof tips every day. It’s just not viable. If someone offers them a premium rate tipline with say an offer of 30% of call profits, why on earth would they turn it down?
Betting in running is completely different. You do not need to study the running styles of all the horses and even if you did it might not help a great deal. Betting in running for the large part is far easier money than styudying a couple of races a day. The satisfaction of getting a winner is not the same but if you are winning what does that matter?
while in running punters have 40 odd races.
I would suggest that any in-running punter who plays in 40 races a day falls into the mug-punter category.
Why would you suggest that?
I can’t see why you wouldn’t shorten it. Just look at how weak the division is and the main protagonist has put in a good round off top weight when not fully fit. This was only ever going to be a pipe opener for the Tingle Creek and a most satisfactory one it was too.
Well done Henry. A great day for the sport!

Paddy Power never knew!
I have often said to people that you get far fewer yobs at National Hunt meeting’s than at Flat ones and most of them have agreed with me. Any thoughts?
For anyone that hasn’t seen it yet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ns5t1PhXFlI
There is a horse in france named Big Tits! Hasn’t ran in the UK AFAIK but ran once in France when the race was covered by RUK. The commentators just ignored it the whole race :cheesy:
Gave Monet’s Garden a big lead and gave the horse far too much to do. Came their crusing but had to make up a good few lengths. Monet’s Garden isn’t exactly the horse you want to give a lead to either.

Good chance Mulryan, pulled a fast one got all prices down on FTP, Knowing full well that In Compliance was never ever going to run in the race. "Get rid of Betfair I will live without it".
I seriously doubt that. The man is a multi millionaire. Taking 100/1 downwards on FTP is hardly any use to him.
I wouldn’t say he was well beaten by Monet’s Garden when he was given a dreaful ride. Also the Arkle was far too short a trip for him. He is the most exciting horse in France and if campaigned properly I have no doubt he would be there or thereabouts in the top 3 mile chases. Alas I fear we will left to wonder what if yet again a la Kotkijet and Cyrlight. Why are NH owners who have top class horses based in France so reluctant to take on the top British and Irish horses?

A few seasons ago in a maiden hurdle a Taunton, a horse trained by Pipe Snr and owned by David Johnson opened 6/1 and drifted wildly in the betting eventually going off 12/1. The horse won by 5 lenghts and was called Well Chief.
Where is it on the RP Site Zoz? I can’t seem to find it.
