Can’t really understand the criticism of Heffernan at all here. To my mind he gave the horse a great ride, dictating a steady pace then nearly winning the race by kicking clear coming in to the straight.. Scorpion certainly had the run of the race..
Based on that elegant piece of prose I would offer long odds that he actually managed to spell his own last name correctly…
A fair bit more than a 2-7 shot in a race priced up by the bookies a couple of minutes before the off TWW!
